Clearview Inspections Inc.

Inspection took 2.5 hrs and we were present the entire time.  Seemed appropriate time for a 4 br, 2.5 house w/attic. 
Inspector started outside which included him walking the entire roof and checking all structures including deck, soffits, fascia, gutters, chimney, crawl space, etc.  He took clear, color pictures of any defects he found. 
Inspection appeared to be thorough, going from outside to inside, however, an attic access panel in a closet was missed.  Also missed was the satellite dish that was mounted in a "valley" inappropriately that needs to be removed and repaired. 
 
He said he would not thoroughly inspect the kitchen appliances, which we understood.  He did run the dishwasher to check for leaks. After we moved in, we found that the microwave was literally held together by duct tape and definitely did not work properly.  This was missed by the inspector.  Just finding the duct tape would have been a red flag.  
 
He did take the time to answer our numerous questions and provide explanations of his cursory review.
His final report was impressive - 35 pages of detail and pictures.  The misses, however, were enough to lower our opinion of the overall score.  
Additional recommendation is to include a moisture gauge which we have seen in other house inspections that would identify any potential leaks behind a wall.
