GENTRY VETERINARY CLINIC

The staff at Gentry Vet Clinic are the best!  Dr. Desirae Self really loves animals and it shows.  She takes the time to talk to you about your pet and answer all your questions.  She has been our vet for several years now.  I trust her and her staff to take the best care of our animals.  Also, their facility is clean and bright and welcoming.
I have a difficult kitty, Marvin, that doesn't handle exams very well.  She is overly anxious and can't handle being touched.  She also has long hair and it mats-up every summer, requiring a shave (she won't allow us to brush her).  The staff at the Gentry Vet Clinic know how to care for her.  I drop her off every year and they put her under with gas, then do her exam, shots and shave.  So much less stress now!
We also have 2 other cats and a dog that get their annual exams and shots there.  Our last visit was smooth and easy.  Dr. Self had to do a special test on one of our cats to determine if his thyroid was having issues, which required a blood draw.  His veins are so tiny, it was a challenge to get the needle into one of them.  Dr. Self and her assistant were so gentle with our cat.  He never cried out and was calm with them.  I think he sensed they were trying to help him and they were calm, so he stayed calm. 
Our dog is getting older and stiffer as she ages.  Dr. Self recommended a couple of different joint tablets and chews and gave me a few samples to take home.  Again, she really cares about the animals and works to get them feeling their best.
I highly recommend Gentry Vet Clinic to anyone who really loves their pet.  I took our pets to another clinic in Siloam Springs a few years ago when we first moved here.  The staff were rude and the place stunk and was filthy.  I'll never go back there again.  I drive further to get to Gentry, but it's worth it to know my pets are in the best hands around!

The last several weeks have been a rough journey for us with our dog, but the compassionate care given by Dr. Self and her staff were second to none during this time. After being told by another local vet that our dog was just old and and quot;this is what happens to old dogs,and quot; Dr. Self went above and beyond in explaining exactly what was happening (liver failure and associated complications) and doing everything humanly possible to extend and improve our pet's quality of life. She even got us in to see two different specialists for some of the various problems our pet was experiencing.
Dr. Self went above and beyond in every possible way. Her diagnosis and treatment plan were exactly correct for our dog - even the specialists confirmed that we were receiving excellent care. She checked in on us frequently after hours and, when the disease progressed, even personally cared for our dog for a period of time. We were never rushed (and we used a lot of her time!), and even had to remind ourselves that she was caring for other animals because her level of personal, individual care was so great that it would be easy to think she was focused solely on our animal's care.
Our dog's disease was very advanced and when the time came (even on a holiday), Dr. Self made herself available to help us say goodbye to our faithful companion.
There's so much more I could say. We're still mourning our pet's passing, but I hope someday we're up to getting another pet so that we can continue to be under Dr. Self's care.
Our only regret is that we didn't find her sooner. I highly recommend Dr. Self and her clinic for your veterinary needs. While we only live about 10 minutes away, we would have gladly driven an hour to know that our pet was in her care.
