A warranty item was purchased in store for just under $300 with a 36 month warranty. Of course when the item is useless in less than a year I have been told (in order)
A) There is nothing we can do.
B) (By the same department manager) "we can't do anything since it has been over thirty days" and two sentences later tells me "we can't do anything since it has been over ninety days".
C) You will have to send the item in to the manufacturer.
D) Leave the item with us we will try to work on your claim and call you tommorow.
Nine days pass and I go back to Home Depot and see my item in the EXACT same place it was before.
Ahh.. New information:
E) You need to take this to an authorized service center.
A message from an Assistant Manger stated he had called me back- NOPE.
This store has an excellent opportunity to be a great store and does have some friendly people. There is only one other lumber yard in thirty or so miles and as it is Home Depot is losing customers RAPIDLY.
