Southern Style Cement

William approached me as I had a very unfortunate incident with another cement finisher.  William promised me that he would treat me right and take care of my project with professionalism and great quality.  Currently, William has left my yard in rough shape and I am very unhappy with my dealings with him.  He has not returned my calls or emails now for weeks.  I have expressed several concerns about the quality of the work, without response.  About 1/3 of the patio that of poured cement is dangerous as there are lips due to poor stamping of almost 2 inches.  Definitely enough to stub a toe on, my son has already tripped and gotten hurt just trying to walk across the patio.  William, as well as his employees have made several comments about how the patio "did not turn out as they had hoped" and "is not the quality that we normally produce", however they have not made the necessary efforts to resolve their mistakes even though I have attempted contact multiple times.  Outside of the patio project which is not in acceptable shape and dangerous, my yard is also in poor shape due to ruts large enough for my lawnmower to bottom out and get stuck in even though I had informed William that vehicles should not be driven on my yard.  If these issues remain unresolved, I would definitely not recommend Southern Style Cement for any project.  The evidence will speak for itself, I invite anyone who is thinking about hiring them to my house to see the project as it sits.  I told William before he started the project that I would recommend his company to many people as I am a reference to several in situations like this, and unfortunately, I did recommend a few people to him...I have since instructed them to wait until mine is finished and see for themselves the quality of work.  One individual told came to look and he just laughed at me when I asked him if he would hire the same company.  I gave a grade of a F for price because it was competitive, but William did change the quote on me 2 times without discussing with me first that there would be any increases to it. I also graded the company with an F grade in all other areas due to the project now being outstanding and unfinished when it began nearly 2 months ago.  The quality is definitely poor as described above and now that I have been ignored for weeks  I will follow up and alter my ratings/review if the issues are resolved to a quality that we had originally agreed upon.  Please reach out to me prior to hiring William and Southern Style Concrete, my email is [email protected] and I can discuss in more detail as well as share pictures.

Southern Style Cement were cheaper than anybody else but the are not as professional as other people. They gave me a quote but they didn't get it on paper; there was no contract, it was just word of mouth. We liked them because they did a good job but I didn't like that they don't have a contract.

It went well. They worked fast and completed the job we asked for.

I emailed William and heard back from him right away. William came out and provided a quote the very next day and a few days later his crew showed up to pour my patio. They were finished in about 5 hours total. The next day I was able to enjoy the 9ft. extension to my patio which gave me the outdoor living space I wanted. They were so quick and provided such quality work that I'm hiring them to move my fence. Next year's project is a swimming pool, and I will hire William for that as well. I was very impressed.
