HARPER'S SERVICE INC

My washer is not spinning and I called Harper's upon referral from a friend. I let him know the washer and dryer was stacked and he told me he would have to charge for two technicians. I told him that was fine (and it was) but when the technicians arrived (although nice and professional) they did not perform two technician's worth of work. They did not stay in the house more than 30 mins and they did not remove the dryer to troubleshoot the washer. The technician said the pump and the boot needed to be replaced to "check it further." So I paid $196.43 for 30 minutes only to be given an unsure diagnosis of parts/labor of another $383.62 to further check it. For a tune of $200 I expect a company to do a complete job of troubleshooting before throwing out parts that "might" fix the problem. I called Harper's to let them know I was not satisfied with the call and the guy that answered the phone said they were both his sons-in-law and he stood by them. OK.

They fixed my oven very quickly.

I needed my oven light repaired and he did that very quickly. I asked him to look at the ice bucket rotor that hasn't worked for years. It
cost me a little more but not as much as a single service call. The ice bucket repair was rather involved but it was not his fault because he was given the wrong part by the parts company. He always called before he arrived and was very pleasant.

I found myself with a broken oven door a few days before Thanksgiving. I called several appliance repair companies out of the yellow pages, and Harper Service was the first one where a live person actually answered. They scheduled an appointment the next day. The service men arrived promptly and only took about 15 minutes to fix my oven door. Luckily they didn't even need parts so all I paid for was the service call. I was very pleased with the service and would not hesitate to call them again.
