I've used them for probably 10 years. They come out every 6 months for routine service. I pay a flat fee per year and it's included in it so it's part of another fee. It's a whole maintenance plan that I pay for. It's about $190 per year. I haven't really shopped around much, I've used them for so long. I haven't done any price comparison.

It's usually 1 person and it usually takes about an hour. Depends on the time of the year. If it's in the winter they can't do much outside with the air conditioner outside. But if it's in the summer they spend more time because they tear the thing apart outside as well and clean it. An hour is a good average.

We had a previous estimate from another company and had a third scheduled to do the same.  Ultimately we cancelled the third and chose to go with Freyaldenhoven.  We are very pleased with all phases of the installation.  Freyaldenhoven was very professional and appropriately staffed.  The education and information that they provided was very much in line with the other vendor.

We had a problem with our air conditioner the night before.  Continually running and not cooling the house.  I turned the unit off for 30min and turned it back on.  It seemed to correct the problem.  I called Freyaldenhoven the next morning at 8am to see if they could come check the system for any problems.  (It's 3 years old and has never been serviced.)  I was hopeful but didn't expect that they would be able to come that day since it's 100 degrees.  I would imagine this is their busiest time of year.  But the receptionist told me a service person would work me in and that he would call before coming.  I received the call around 5pm and he arrived shortly after.  He checked out the outside units and the one in the attic and didn't find any problems.  He was extremely nice and professional.   $93 seems like a lot for not having to fix anything and he was only there about 15 minutes.   But it's worth it to me that they could come that day since it was my only day off this week.  We would definitely use them again.

Professional, on time and extremely polite.  It was hot & humid but did not slow the technicians.

One mishap where they stepped through the ceiling (in the garage).  They put sheet metal over the hole (in the attic) until it could be repaired.  The ceiling repairman came the following Friday to start the process, came back on a Sunday morning to do the next step - even in a driving rain storm.  Finished the following Monday.  We cannot tell where the mishap happened.  He was prompt and polite.

Product control from Freyaldohoven's came 2 weeks after install.  He went over the new thermostat, wanted my input as to hot/cold spots in the house and any other issues.  After checking and adjusting the duct work in the attic, our home is now extremely comfortable.  Professional, on time and polite.

Excellent job performed by Freyaldenhoven. Not cheap, but replacing AC and heat isn't normally anyway. Superb service and quality of product. Extremely happy and our electric bill has even gone down.

Went through many equipment iterations and the resulting quotes. Justin was very helpful and provided the quotes promply and answered all my questions.
Crew arrived as scheduled. A bonus was that instead of a two day installation, two crews arrived and it was all done in one day.
Crew modified the upstairs air intake, make it larger and did a professional job. One nice touch was that they saw I had a case of filters for the original smaller intake opening (which obviously would be of no use), so they replaced them with a case of filters to fit the new intake. Crew added mulch around the new AC compressors, again, not required but a nice touch.
Equip was installed properly, no issues. All materials were cleaned up at the end of the job.
A quality control supervisor visited several days after the installation to ensure everything was done correctly, that there were no safety issues and to train us on the use of the system and thermostats.

I told them what I wanted, QUIET and COOL. They made multiple trips to adjust and make changes because I am sensitive to noise and because of the way the old duct system was installed it was complecated. They worked hard to make me happy!!!

I've used Freyaldenhoven on several occasions over the years, and I would call them again.
This is a true family owned and operated business, and it is obvious that they strive to employ the most knowledgeable and trustworthy technicians.
My experience (with them and others) is that with this kind of work there is sometimes a need for a return visit, but they definitely seem dedicated to making things right no matter what it takes.

They are not inexpensive but otherwise they do a great service. They are really working with the customers. They'll follow up to do a quality check. They get the work done when they say they'll get it done.

From on site visit for price quote, to equipment specification and work scope, the sales explained in detail. the price negotiation is professional level.
After I did my home work of the price and furnace specs comparison with Carrier furnace and its contractor, I decided to let this company to do the work. The installation crew arrived on time, performed procedures as the salesman described, as well as cleaning the work site. About a week later, a quality inspector visited the newly installed furnace and performed his check list. Added a condensate leak shut-off switch (code required) which salesman mentioned but the installation crew did not do. He
completed his work to my satisfaction. However, he forgot to test run the furnace. The furnace failed to work that night. I called the company next morning and they sent out worker, only to find that the quality inspector left a test jumper on the control board. Apologized. I am very please with they price and quality of workmanship.

Everything has gone fine. The heat and AC is just not balanced and they seem to have never gotten it that way. That is the only issue I have had with them.

Overall, we've always liked the technicians who have come out, and felt that they were trying to solve problems and not just get away as quickly as possible. They did not try to talk us into buying a new unit even though the one we had issues with was about 15 years old at the time. They did give us an estimate of what the replacement cost would be, which didn't seem inflated, and the tech was straightforward enough to say that if it were him, we would probably wait and try to get more time out of the existing system before giving up on it. The only reason this company is not getting an "A" from me strictly related to our experience with the office staff. In short, they have been both rude and disorganized when we made arrangements to sell the one house and move to another, and wanted to figure out how to handle the service contract. The story is a little convoluted in my mind at this point, but basically we tried hard to make a transition from one property to the other, only to have office staff claim that "we don't do transfers of service contracts" even after the owner of the company (or at least a manager) told my wife that he would authorize something to that effect and make a note of it in the file. We were willing to pay an extra fee for a first-time assessment of the "new" unit that would go on the contract, but basically we were already paying a lot for an annual deal, and weren't going to get any value for it on the old house. Basically the communications were difficult and unpleasant, and left a bad impression, totally different from our experience of the service people who came out to the house. They seem to be one of the biggest providers in the area, and so in general I would imagine they are doing some things right. Nonetheless, they came close to losing us because of the tone of communications about the service contract. In the end, however, we weren't quite motivated enough to switch, and I expect to give them a chance to bid if and when we need to replace the heat pump at our "new" house, a unit which is even older that the last one!

They arrived at scheduled time. Service man cleaned and inspected the inside and outside units. He took his time and did a thorough job. He answered several questions we had and was very knowledgeable.

They provided a quick estimate which was lower in cost than the other contractors and they completed the job quickly after I awarded them the contract.

The technician checked and said the ants got into the condenser contact. He cleaned up contact and AC run cool again. later in Sep, 2004, AC stopped working again. This time arranged different electrician. He told me after the thorough check that the contact was burn and disconnect switch contact also burner. Apparently the previous technician did not checked the contact condition when he found out the ants. That time the contact was poorly worn. The next 3 month run caused uneven current in disconnect contact and burned it. I had to replace the disconnect switch and contact and paid the electrician for the investigation. extra $150. A $20 parts caused $130 more. Do not want to use this company again.
