The estimate was quick and painless; Mr Collins was there and gone right on time and provided the estimate via email within hours. The crew arrived exactly on time on the day scheduled and worked all day to complete the job. This was the first business day after daylight savings time went into effect and the last hour of cleanup was in almost complete darkness.
Even though having a roof replaced is loud and very distracting, there were no incidents or disturbances other than the typical noise and mess. They were so meticulous about cleaning up that the entire crew returned at dawn the next day to make sure nothing had been missed in the darkness and to run big magnets on rollers over the lawn and driveway, all the sidewalks and patios and even in the landscaping areas to make sure that no nails or debris were left behind.
They did a beautiful job at a competitive price and afterward I heard from several friends that they used Dale Collins and Sons and had recommended them to everyone they knew who needed a roofer.

Dale Collins himself came to help us out and he is amazing. He got the problem fixed in about an hour. He knows exactly what he is doing and his company put a new roof on our house about 5 months ago when we moved in. I will gladly keep using his company. They are all very friendly and understanding. They are all very professional.

Dale responded promptly.  He checked the roof and discovered that the sealant had cracked.  He also discovered that we had rotten boards underneath.  He offered to do the work for free because the 50 year sealant he used had been bad.  He replaced the bad boards, matched the shingles, and resealed the chimney.  We offered to pay half because the roof boards he replaced were not damage caused by the sealant leak.  It had been previously undiscovered damage that we weren't aware of when we bought the house.  Dale was going to stick by his original offer to repair everything for free.  Dale and his crew made sure that everything was cleaned up before they left each day.

I received a flyer in the mail from several companies after the storms we had in Central Arkansas area. I got three estimates with Dale Collins being one of them. After talking with my insurance company and bank I settled on Dale Collins to replace my roof. I was not home when they did the estimate so it was emailed to me - after getting my check endorsed by the bank and me I then  called Dale Collins and asked if I could pick out a new roof color. I was asked to meet them at their office in Conway which is located in a church which I found very odd. The colors I had researched online he didn't even have for me to look at. I finally settled on "Desert Tan" from the Owens- Corning line of shingles. I was told it would be 3 weeks before he could start my roof and I would need to pay 1/2 down at that time. I paid with a check and left his office.

Almost a month went by because I had to send my check to my back for endorsement from estimate till I picked out a color and another 3 weeks to start since tornados had demolished a town and they need help before anyone else - I was totally fine with this.

A week later after payment to Dale Collins I noticed I had by mistake paid for the architectural shingles (2402.50) not the fiberglass 3- tab (2170.00) most houses have on them. I called his office and got NO answer. My phone called was returned 2 days later by his daughter that told me I would still owe 2402.50. I explained to her I wanted the fiberglass 3-tab and that I would only owe about 1950.00 since I had overpaid. After several minutes of trying to explain to her what i wanted and what I paid for - I finally just hung up because apparently she  didn't really know what was going on with my roofing project.

What I will advise anyone who uses them is this - Make sure you tell them you want new felt laid after they pull off the old shingles - this is not something they automatically do. If I had not taken a vacation day they would have laid the roof and I could have had additional damage the next hail storm that rolls through. I find this very odd and after looking back at the other estimates EVERYTHING was included not just shingles, nails and pipe flashing.

I was called on 5-31 to confirm a date of 6-2 to replace my shingles. When I arrived home I noticed the materials were in place but what I found odd was the color I picked out was not what was in my driveway. Remember I had asked for "Desert Tan" - in my driveway was "Rustic Cedar" by TAMKO. I called the office and got NO answer. I had to go online and research and compare the colors side by side to see they were almost the same color just different manufacturer.  I was told they would start between 7-8 am on 6-4-2011 and they finally showed up at 1:45 pm and dropped a trailer - I was told the roofers would be here in an hour to start - ok so it's now almost 3 pm. when they began pulled the old roof off and then had to wait another hour for the felt to get delivered - finally arrived at around 5. I give the roofers a "A" they worked until 9 pm. then was back on the job at 7 am to finish up.

Be very careful if you use them on your next roofing job.
