Boltz Furniture

n 2009, I purchased a stainless steel custom platform bed from Boltz Furniture. The design of the bed was simple and similar to a model Boltz sells. When I received the bed, I notice the design was different than what I requested. I also notice the rails were misaligned. Otherwise the bed looked nice, assembly went smooth, and the parts fit smoothly together. I returned the bed for a replacement. Months passed, I became concerned and contacted Boltz. At some later point, I received the replacement bed. That day, for whatever reason, I was confident everything would be ok. I unpacked the bed, took the packing to our trash room, and began assembling the bed. I was so disappointed to find the bed would not properly assemble. The legs are crooked because the rails do not properly fit; this was not the case with the first bed. However, like the first bed, the rails were misaligned, thus, the replacement bed appears defective. I debated again whether to return the bed; however, I was so discouraged and disappointed by the ordeal. In disgust, I let it go. I’ve recently found myself in a situation were I must use the bed. On the Boltz website, they promote a guarantee. I again looked at the Boltz guarantee, questioned its sincerity, and decided to investigate their sincerity. With Boltz, I recently (February 2012) shared the original specification, photos of the replacement bed, and their guarantee. I’ve told Boltz, I would like the bed replaced and am willing to pay some costs to have this matter resolved. I contacted Jeff White, Managing Partner. I’ve heard nothing from him. I phoned Boltz and was referred to the General Manager. She said, via email, she’d provide her contact information. I’ve received nothing. At one time, Boltz promoted customer survey results; however, I failed to find anyplace to submit a survey and the results now appear to have been removed. Boltz did not request that I take a customer survey. Considering the quality of the product that resulted from Boltz’s service, the price was bad. Their responsiveness was bad, punctuality was bad, and professionalism was bad. If I knew of other companies that make custom stainless steel beds, I doubt I’d again use Boltz Furniture. If I again used Boltz for custom work, I’d have them send photos of the completed product, then, if the product looked acceptable, have the completed product delivered.
