Bartlett Builders & Construction Services

I have taken a long time to write this review because I couldn't figure out how to everyone what a positive experience we had with Bartlett Builders.  To try and briefly describe our experience would be to say:  We found land we wanted to build a home, found Bartlett Builders through Angie's list and began speaking with them about how and if we could build a nice home while staying within our budget.  Byron (owner) got us in contact with a surveyor and architect.  We put a contract on the land.  We found that we could build within our price range and were about to close on the land when the landowner passed away and the property instantly came off the market.  We were a little shocked as we had been very excited about our beautiful new home we had planned on.
So to write a review for a home builder who never actually built us a home --that's tough.  I want to be as honest as possible here and not tell you Bartlett Builders would do a perfect job if I have not worked with them to completion.  But I can honestly tell you about the experiences I have had.
First off, very professional.  Byron was respectful and treated our time as if it was just as valuable as his.  He returned emails and phone calls promptly.  He met with me at my convenience (we were traveling in from out of state to have meetings with him.)  He gave us all the time we needed and didn't rush us.  We stressed to him that we had a budget and that if we couldn't stay within the budget we would not build a house.  He told us very honestly what things push up the price, how to save money without cutting corners, and what people want when we resale. He gave us, what we felt like was a fair price for the home he was building.  He builds energy efficient homes, which I didn't care too much about, but it made me comfortable knowing we were getting a high quality product.  I'm trying to keep this short, so to sum it up, I felt he was honest with us the entire time, and from seeing other homes he build, the quality would be high.
If it works out for us to build a house in the future, I would not hesitate to call Bartlett Builders (and only Bartlett Builders) to do the job.  I am confident in their integrity and ability.

To say that we have been pleased with the results and the process would be an understatement. Byron was able to come in under budget on his portion of the project. And, the pleasure of working with Byron extended beyond the initial relationship. His reputation within the building community is such that we were frequently able to use his name and receive his discounts on multiple occasions. If you are looking to have someone build your home for you, start to finish; Byron would be more than capable hands. But, if you are looking for a partner to help you build your dream home, you cannot find a more invested, honest, and respectable builder than Byron Bartlett of Bartlett Builders & Construction Services.
