Art Gardner, looked at our vintage coca cola cooler and assure us he could fix. About 2 weeks later he returns to fix. We already knew it was leaking freon, but Mr. Gardner had some sort of stuff to pour into it to seal it up. As it turns out, it did not fix it. I was expecting to pay reasonable service charge. He was there less than 1 hour. He handed us a bill for $275.00. I was like, seriously?. I was very abrupt and up front with him. Told him that seemed like way too much for something that isn't fixed. Well, he said he knew that stuff wouldn't fix it. It is apparently very expensive.My husband replied, you never made any indication that it wouldn't fix it. I refused to pay the bill. My hubby did offer to pay a reduced fee but Art said no, took he stuff and left. An hour later he calls wanting a check. I still haven't paid him and I won't. I have since heard similar experiences. I would be very leary of him.
