I would like to commend Josh Carter, owner of 1st Choice Custom Landscaping and Irrigation for the work his company did installing a new irrigation system for me. Josh has built his business based upon a foundation of honesty and a strong work ethic. He goes above and beyond to ensure complete customer satisfaction. I have used my new irrigation system all summer and am very pleased with it. Josh also returned this fall, at my request, to show me how to winterize the system. I will be calling upon Josh and his crew again next Spring to do some landscaping work for me. I highly recommend this company for whatever your landscaping and irrigation system needs might be.

I haven't been this impressed with a contractor in a long time. Josh and his crew were punctual, affordable, and completed the job on time. The attention to detail and pride in their work I witnessed is seldom seen these days. When I questioned Josh about whether he'd put some of the work in his estimate, he replied that he hadn't but did the extra because he thought it needed doing and he wanted us to be completely happy. Well he certainly earned our respect and any future business. Can't recommend them highly enough!

Everything went perfect with the entire process! Josh and his staff were very professional in every way. Even after I had told them I was happy with their work and payed them they came back the following day to do more clean-up of the trenches. Josh did a great job in explaining how the entire system works and showed me each setting. Very happy with their quality work!

Landscape was very overgrown. Came in and completely transformed by clearing and trimming overgrown plants and removing dead and dying trees. Showed up on time worked until job was complete. It was a complete transformation.

Josh did an excellent job. His initial proposal was fancier than I was looking for, but it was on par with the best homes in the neighborhood. I am not a keeping up with the jones' type of guy so we opted for a simpler, low maintenance design with stone fill and fewer plantings, using only hardy plants.
He came back the next day a knocked out the work in record time. The results were excellent.

Great company. 1st we called T & L irrigation, Morettos and 1st choice. T & L was really expensive and morettos is a plumbing company and after talking to professionals morettos doesn't know what he is doing as far as irrigation or landscaping. We went with 1st choice not only cause the price was good but he explain more about what he was doing and added a few things for free. We called keeling company in Bentonville 479-464 7699 and talked to Charlie and he confirmed that Josh was 1 of the best in the business and had been doing business with them for over 15 yrs.. He hadn't heard much about T & L and never heard of morettos. Josh is very knowledgeable and me being 67 yrs old and this being our 5 irrigation system its by far is the best we have ever had. Less watering and more coverage. He spent a lot of his time here at our home and on the phone answering any question we had.

At first it was ok except for getting Josh to show up on time was very hard. When he did show up they worked fast but did as little as work as possible. They installed the downspout bubblers and broke some brick on the house while installing them. The pipe leading to the bubblers in the yard was just placed on top of the ground and not underground like it should have been. The placement of the bubblers were right in the flower beds and not in the yard like it should have been. Josh did come back and fix this after a few weeks of calling him. Again when they showed up they did as fast as work as possible not taking care to fix the flower beds he messed up.
Josh promised that the plants were under warranty when they left. About a week later plants started dying and I contacted Josh about them. He ensured me he would come out and take care of them. After weeks and weeks of empty promises to replace the plants he sends me text message after text message explaning all the reasons he would not replace them. He blamed the top soil we purchased, that was from the best black dirt farm around. He also blamed lack of watering that was not true. We are growing grass in the yard at the same time so we are watering the yard at the same time and some how the yard is not dead but the plants are???
Overall Josh has a hard time with the truth and with showing up. He is very disrespectful to his customers and condescending. His work is substandard and not someone I would ever recommend.

Very courteous and easy to work with! Met with me and brought the vision to paper and from paper to life. Only a couple of critiques: a) I think it could've been a 1 day job if they had started early like 7AM vs. 10AM. b) this was a verbal agreement but it was my fault for not making sure it wasn't on paper but no weed fabric was laid down underneath the front garden rocks. c) they should've staked the trees to prevent them from bending and growing curved - I'm having to do that myself but would have been open to factoring that into the cost along with the weed fabric.

Josh worked around the weather-- lots of rain lately-- and got our landscaping done in the timeframe and cost we agreed upon. He was courteous and prompt and on site when the landscaping was being done. It looks great!
Josh recommended the plants and provided a drawing prior to the work being done. The plants are healthy, the landscaping was done just like the plans he drew up for us, and he even threw in some begonias. They installed a rock, retaining wall and Josh picked the stone which matches our home beautifully.
His crew cleaned up everything when done--raked the yard, sprayed off the sidewalk, etc.
I'm very happy with the way it turned out and will hire him again for planting trees in the Fall and possibly installing a walkway to the back yard.

Josh was fantastic to work with. Normally I'm always having to chase down contractors but Josh was actually the one contacting me, always on time, and very attentive to our needs and timeline. We are the kind of family who really had no idea of what plants to use or how to landscape as we are not from the area, so I asked Josh to "put in what he would do if this was his house" within a specific budget and the results were fantastic. He even checked in several times afterward to make sure we liked everything, if there was anything we wanted to chance, if the plants were doing well, etc. I will definitely use Josh again for any landscaping work and will recommend him to friends.

Very pleased with the work completed at our home. Josh called back very quick and set up a time. He met with us and gave us some ideals and drew up a design. Also did irrigation,sod and lighting too. Great group of guys. Would use again and will recommend to all my friends and family.

Very happy with josh and his crew. He was the best price and already knew he was good because he did my parents house about 15 yrs ago and had a really good price and did really really good work. Would recommend him to anyone. Has a great eye for what plants to use and his sprinkler work is the best I've ever seen. Thanks again for making my yard look like something in a magazine.

Got 3 names off of Angies list( T&L , S&S creative landscapes and 1st Choice Custom landscapes & irrigation ) I only got 2 quotes because I could not get S&S to even return my 3 calls I left them. I went with 1st choice because of price and knowledge. He showed me his systems verses a lot of other companies. He does head to head coverage and puts more in than most companies. Cleaned up after everyday they were finished and all workers were very professional to. Highly recommend and will use again next month to landscape my house

Great! I Had 3 other companies I got off here and they all charged me and didn't find or fix problem until i called Josh and he came out and found and fixed problem in about 30 mins and charged cheaper than the other 3 that didn't even fix it. Will use again if we have anymore problems

As a gift for my parents, I wanted to update their lawn sprinklers and landscaping. 1st Choice listened to my requests, did great work, came within my budget and made me and my parents very happy. He and his crew were on time and were always respectful. He answered our questions and made us feel very comfortable. Especially with this being a gift for my parents, I have to say I'm really happy with the results. I'll be using 1st Choice in the future.

Josh did some work for a friend of ours, and we were so impressed with the work we hired him to help us with our new home. We needed an outdated irrigation system updated, and some new landscaping. He not only walked us through what needed to be done, but he was so knowledgable about what he does, we learned a lot ourselves. He is reliable, professional, and exhibits exemplary customer service. Very knowledgable at what they do. I recommend at least giving 1st Choice a call. Me and my husband couldn't agree on plants so josh went with us to the plant store twice to try and do whatever he could to makes us happy. His prices were around everybody else's but we went with them because of the time and effort he put into it. We will be calling 1st Choice again very soon to do are back yard. The job they did so far beyond our aspects and our yard is beautiful!!! Thanks
