Mark and his crew were always on time, professional, and kind. The job went exactly as he predicted and they were nice enough to work around most of our garden plants.

Mark and the crew were great! They found matching brick and it was delivered before the work was scheduled. They worked safely off of a scaffold, diligently and did great work. The new chimney is beautiful. The tuck pointing on the second chimney went well. They did a great job on cleanup and charged the price that was quoted. I was very pleased with the whole experience.

We had a tight deadline with the furnace installation, so I called several masons hoping to schedule work the next week. Several warned us that we would never be able to get anyone within two months, but Mark had an opening. He was professional and supremely competent — he had the scaffolding in place and the chimney built in two days.. We learned a new vocabulary word — “corbel” — and the new brick matches the old perfectly. We were especially happy that Mark worked with the furnace installers to line the chimney after the rebuild, saving us a lot of grief (the furnace company thought the chimney was too high to reach without a cherrypicker). Bravo on all counts.

When Mark wasn't able to do the work due to rain, he came on Saturday (the next day) to complete the work. He communicated with me to let me know what was happening and when. I appreciated his professionalism, quality and responsiveness. Thanks Mark!

It went very well. Mark took the time to explain to me what the situation was and what my options were for repairs. Other contractors were just going to put a bandage on an old tipsy chimney. Mark's Chimney Service did what they said they would do and they maintained their schedule. Honestly when I got the bid for the scope of work I thought it may be high. But after seeing what the crew did for the whole week, the long hours they worked, great clean up and how well it turned out, I thought I got a fabulous price and value. My new brick chimney work is beautiful and structurally sound now! I'm good for the next 150 years!

Mark's Chimney did an outstanding job for us. After purchasing our house 3 years ago, it became clear that the previous homeowner had not spent a dime on maintaining the chimney. In addition, there had been a hack-job repair that only hastened its deterioration. Mark's proposal was a complete rebuild of the chimney from the roof line up. Before hiring Mark, I also had quotes from 3 other well-reviewed Angie's List providers. I felt like Mark's proposal was the best value for the amount of work. As with any home improvement project, it is always worse once you start to open things up, and this was no different. Due to never being cleaned, there had been a chimney fire, resulting in a cracked flue tile. If I had been extensively using the chimney, I could have been risking my family's health due to the exhaust gasses potentially leaking back into my attic. Mark showed me the cracked flue tile and presented me with options. Ultimately I chose to go with the stainless steel liner that would last a lifetime and still let me burn wood (as opposed to a gas insert). During the course of the project, Mark and his crew kept me well-informed of the progress. I could tell by watching them work that they took great pride in their work. One of the things that I appreciated was that they were able to explain all of the repairs they were making and why they were necessary. It was obvious that they knew exactly what they were doing and weren't just some run-of-the-mill contractors with a bag of mortar and a chisel. The finished product looks great and I know that it will last for decades. My family is very excited about being able to use our chimney this coming winter.

Really well, Mark was very professional and friendly. His bid was 1/3 of the price we had previously been quoted. He found an opening in his schedule and it was fixed quickly and completely within a week.

Mark tried twice to come and clean our chimney within the first few days of my call to him but it was raining so we had to schedule about 10 days out. He arrived on time and went right to work inspecting and cleaning our chimney. After cleaning the chimney, he spent about 45 minutes trying to repair a broken damper connection and did not charge us for it. We asked what we could do regarding the damper and he gave us a price for a more efficient damper. He said we could call him in the spring or whenever we were ready to get our chimney checked out and he'd let us know if it needed cleaning. No charge unless he cleans it. There was no mess and he did a great job. We were very pleased and will call him again.
