My main complaint about their quality was the total lack of prep to the surfaces to be painted. We did all of the cleaning and the bulk of the sanding and filling. I had a feeling that the prep included in the price would not be up to my standard, so I did all that I could in advance. It was a good thing, because they don't do any of that sort of prep. They scuff the paint on the trim, tape and caulk. What if I was eighty years old and wasn't able to clean and sand and fill? Maybe I just don't understand what today's painters see as their job and not the homeowners. When they finished, we had a little time to inspect the entire job for things that needed more attention. We found several and they touched up and cleaned up most of it. Later while installing new shades, I noticed that parts of the Windows didn't get a finish coat. This was probably due to the fact that they wouldn't use the work lights we provided, and spray painted virtually in the dark. The other disappointing part, and the reason we won't use them again is how they calculated changes to the scope of work. We added crown mould in two rooms and priming the walls in one square room. We eliminated, the walls in 2 stairwell, the walls in a small room at the bottom of one stair, about 35 feet of hall ceiling and walls and a small bathroom with a window and door trim and walls. They knocked off $28.00. The sad thing is we liked them personally. The owners and the painters were were all very polite and friendly and we were going to have them back to finish the inside and outside, but we can't now.
