DANNY'S CONCRETE

Danny McRee is an individual concrete contractor primarily involved in commercial projects, however he does do residential jobs as time permits. I obtained his name from a list provided by a local rock quarry. His company is based from his home and he obtains business strictly by word of mouth. From the beginning, Danny's professionalism and attention to detail was apparent. He provided a detailed estimate that itemized labor costs, materials and told us which items that he could or could not save us money on. He made suggestions for design that we had not though of such as how the concrete could be poured to direct water away from the house and yard. The overall project took about 6 weeks due to weather delays. It began with the crew grading the existing yard to prepare for the footings required for the walls that would be needed to support the new garage pad. Once the footings were dug and the walls were poured, they pulled up the old concrete from the existing driveway and used the old concrete for filler (to save money) and supplemented it with gravel to comensate for any voids. They then placed rebar and wire as needed to ensure that the new pad and driveway would be strong before the new concrete was poured. During the project there were a number of things that the crew did that went well beyond our expectations, Examples include replacing a header wall that one of the concrete trucks destroyed, repairing a severe crack that had formed in the foundation of the house and running conduit under the concrete for electricity that would be needed for the new garage. The crew made sure that they cleaned up on a daily basis and were professional and pleasant to deal with.
