Warranty Companies - Non-Home
This is a national company for the protection plan. I bought the dishwasher at a local store but the protection plan was national. Sears did get the dishwasher replaced at no cost to me but it was a long process which was not fun. It was a long and difficult process because Sears had to contact the manufacturer and wait for them to close the claim. You never get the same person on the case so you are constantly re-explaining things.
Dealing with the store is really nice but dealing with the legalities of the insurance claim with the protection plan from Sears was a nightmare. The phone representatives, for what they are trained to do, are very good. If you have to get to the people in charge that make the decisions, it is very difficult. They are never available and you can never get a hold of them.
They could be much more responsive. Because I still have a protection plan with them, I will use them again, but if I didn't have that, I wouldn't.
