Drywall Service
This man was hired to put a finish on new drywall in room that had been gutted to the studs. I stress, the drywall was new. We also requested that the popcorn texture be removed from the ceiling (which was otherwise in excellent shape). He said this would be no problem and "reskinning" the ceiling with new drywall wasn't necessary. We agreed to a SLIGHT orangepeel texture to both ceiling and walls. What this man did to our ceiling was horrible....he scraped and gouged on the ceiling and then had to trowel mud into places where he'd gouged too deep, etc. He actually sprayed heavier texture on the ceiling and walls without even sanding most of the mudded places and skipped large areas. It looked awful, hard to believe this guy has been working in the drywall business for 30 yrs. or more. My husband paid him before the texture was dry (just looked like a total "white out") and I wasn't home at that time or he would not have been paid. When it dried and we started looking at what he did to our "new" room we were absolutely sickened. This man couldn't have cared at all about the quality of his work. My husband tried to get him to come back and FIX it--he told him that we'd have to remove three decorative exposed beams from our ceiling before he'd touch it again??? Needless to say, that wasn't going to happen and he knew that. He left ladders and tarps here and we still have them. We had to hire other people to fix the mess he left our den in and amazingly enough they made our ceiling look smooth and beautiful and did their best to even out our walls. Of course, it cost us alot more money but at least they knew what they were doing.
