HUNTER BURT CONSTRUCTION

Hunter Burt Construction completely botched roof repair from April 27, 2011 storms. Instead of replacing the busted hip ridge, he scabbed it and put a support post from the ceiling joists which were not designed to carry a load. I was told that he would replace the hip ridge and was present when he called and ordered the 2x8x30 beam from the lumber yard. When I returned home I found the botched repair job and  since I am not a structural engineer I could not say the work was correct or not.  I was assured the work was sufficient.  A few days later my insurance adjustor and then another builder both informed me the work would not have passed a Madison County inspection. I investigated and found the work had not been licensed or inspected nor was Hunter Burt licensed to work in Madison County. Of course this all happened after he demanded payment as he walked away from the job. At the advice of my insurance company I hired a structural engineer to investigate the work and he confirmed the work was not up to code.
