This was the worst experience we have ever had with a company in our entire life. Their motto is "Uncommon customer service." Well thank God for that. They sent a crew out on a beautiful Friday afternoon in February. The crew supervisor evidently manages via cell phone because the crew took the shingles off the roof and disappeared. We had to call the supervisor to let him know and he came out hours later and put a tarp over the house. Torrential rains moved in the next day and water poured in to the house through all windows under that section. Well I guess they had to add a restoration division to their company because of situations like this. They removed parts of walls and the crews that they hire just disrespect your house. Furniture banged up, railing banged up; and I guess they just threw down my blinds because blinds were scratched up and the wands were broken. They put my house back together but the workmanship is substandard. In the few months that we have dealt with them there have been so many people that we dealt with that are no longer with the company. It actually took them coming out more than once to get the roof right. Then the owner calls asking for money. Just a heads up:he records the phone call without informing you. Now mind you...they have yet to send a bill yet somehow I am supposed to know how much I owe them. And he is very demanding about getting paid. I have never written a poor review of a company before. We are actually very easy to please. But I urge everyone to avoid this company. They have branches all over North Alabama-just move on.

North Alabama Roofing & Restoration repaired two sections of my roof. One was near a dormer and the other around a chimney. The dormer area repair went well although there was a small amount of siding damage that was eventually fixed. The repair around the chimney included siding, replacing the chimney cap, replacing flashing, and roof repair. This portion of the job did not go well. There were multiple defects, some aesthetic, some functional. I had to have the company come back out 6 times before they finally repaired the area to my satisfaction. Some of the defects included: Exposed nail heads on the ridge cap (no sealant), using architectural shingles on the ridge cap instead of the proper ridge cap shingle material, incorrectly sizing the edging on the siding resulting in exposed bare wood (that was then covered in some silicone goop), incorrect lapping of siding that channeled water behind the siding, exposed nails in the siding, and broken new siding that would allow water to get in. Overall, communication with the company was spotty. My initial sales rep (Jenard) did not return calls after the paperwork was signed. I eventually resorted to calling the home office on a regular basis to resolve the problems above (did I mention it took 6 additional trips to get it right?). To their credit, everyone that I spoke with at NAR&R was very polite and they did not balk at sending the crew back out multiple times. I believe the root cause of the problem was the roofer not having all the proper materials to do the job correctly and the roofer not knowing how to do siding work. Eventually, NAR&R called out a siding company to do that portion of the job correctly. Pictures attached highlight some of the problems that were present after the repair. Incorrect cap material, exposed wood, and incorrect lapping of siding materials. All were eventually corrected to my satisfaction although I believe that none of them should have existed in the first place.

This was a near perfect experience, which we know is rare for a roofing job. We interacted with 5 or 6 different people at North Alabama Roofing, and all but 1 did excellent, dependable, professional, and thorough work. Each person that made an appointment to come to my home was extremely punctual and responded with answer to my questions by email or phone quickly. NARR's quote nearly matched the one from our own insurance company, and where it differed the team was extremely negotiable. We asked for extra work, and were not charged extra, we asked for help with the deductible and were WOWed! The men that removed the old roof were extremely careful to hoist the debris into a dump trailer to keep it from scattering into my yard, and cleanup of roofing tacks from our yard was performed with a magnet. The new architectural shingles were the exact ones chosen, with high quality. The new roof looks fabulous. They were willing to wait for the final payment until I received the final depreciation check from my insurance company. It was a great experience all around, with the exception of one of the office workers who was not responsive.

Short of being on the roof w/Jenard I placed a high degree of confidence in his opinion and recommendations. He is exactly whom you would hope for in terms of professionalism, demeanor, respectfulness, and knowledge. A fine young man that would succeed in any challenge. He has our full confidence and trust in his findings and report.

They company is great the estimator was good and I went ahead and signed the contract on the spot as I knew I wanted to use this company. All the employees that I worked with were fantastic and the customer service was excellent. The quality of the work was just as good and I was really pleased with the finished product. I would definitely use these guys in the future.

It went very well from the estimator's first arrival on the scene and the comfort that he provided all of the way through the job superintendent and the on site workers everyone was super professional. They seemed to sincerely care that we were displaced and that our home was upset. The entire team and staff worked very hard to restore our home. In the end it was better than before the loss. We would highly recommend this company to anyone.
