Todd Simmons came and showed us photos of his projects around Pensacola and gave us a quote for our job. He leaned into his Christian "integrity" and was very easy to deal with. They began our project with, at times, 4 carpenters. There were days of no work because of rain. That was understandable. The worked progressed quite slowly because most of the job was being done by one carpenter and one helper. The helper gushed with pride that this was her first deck job and that she was learning so much. Well, her lack of experience in cutting and even staining the boards was quite evident. Many boards were poorly stained as well as the exterior of the house which shouldn't have been stained. Some mitre cuts are really awful. The last two days the two workers were rushing and hustling because of pressure from their boss, Mr Simmons. The last boards installed were, obviously, the deck top - exactly where one would like a nice smooth finish. Many screw heads were not flush, while many of the boards were screwed down in such a rush the screws hit too close to the edges and split the boards. The random stain pattern is just bad. The stair steps are spongy because there is no stringer under them. A week after they finished and Mr Simmons was paid, I called him and asked that they please come fix several boards that had popped up. He came with a helper to do the work. But Mr Simmons was gone before I had an opportunity to speak with him. I'm so disappointed that the job began so well but was completed in such a slipshod manner. From a distance the deck looks good and the design was close to what we had agreed on
Description of Work: Built an elevated 10x20' deck connected to the house.
