A few days prior to the job, Ickes arranged for the city to mark the water, sewerage and electrical lines that were near the tree. On the day of the job, the Ickes crew arrived on time with a number of pieces of heavy equipment. It took several hours to remove the tree and grind some the trunk. The area was left clean and leveled. I was very satisfied with the job.

I called Ickes to have several stumps ground down (about 20 in total) so we can put in a fence. It was a decent size job which I assumed would take at least half a day. When I called I would get a message service and I would explain what I wanted done and requested a time to show them. The 2nd time I called Mr Ickes said he had been out of town and he would come out later that afternoon. He never showed up. I called again and my husband talked to him, setting up a time for his crew chief to come out. Again no one showed up. I called again and a week later, after we had another company do the work, Mr Ickes called to say he had hurt his back. I don't know what that had to do with his crew chief not showing up but the lack of professionalism was apparent. We of course told him we no longer needed his service.

Excellent! Would use Ickes Tree Service again.

And here we go. I had a new home under contract. Asked the builder to recommend a Tree Guy because the builder agreed to pay to remove or trim back several trees that were too close to the home and/or leaning precariously past the roof line. The builder gave me Ickes's name so I called. I explained the situation to the young woman who answered the phone. She sounded confused as though time spent with a POTENTIAL homeowner would be a waste of time. Said she'd check with Mr. Ickes and call back. A day later, she did. Mr. Ickes had a great deal of business, his time was valuable and he would not look at the trees unless I paid $85.00 for his time. In advance. Any money would not apply to future services. TIMber! After I picked myself off the floor, I thanked her for her time and was grateful she didn't charge in advance. The builder took care of the trees.

The start of the actual work was delayed by tropical storm Isaac, but the rescheduled time was honored and started on time. There were ample chances of damage as all of the work was very near the house and/or outbuildings, but nothing was damaged. They did a good, professional job.

Never stopped working they were efficient.

They came when they said they would come, got the job done quickly, and at a reasonable price. They have a good website, they sent an email on a tree care class that was being sponsored, I was unable to go, but, thought that was a good thing to do for a customer.
