Bridal Shops
i was looking for a dress for my 25th anniversary vow renewal which was going to be out of state some 650 miles from home. my husband had just gotten out of the hospital from surgery and we didn't want or have the time to go all around the world for a dress so we found the bridal botique in prattville al. something should have told me upon entering the store that this was going to be a nightmare from the start. it was very disorganized.no one to really help you phones ringing, the place was a mess but we found a dress that was on sale and purchased it. . it was too tight in the bodice and the girl said it could be let out.. we went back the next day and got tux measurments and colors for my husband and i asked if my dress was still there and they said it had gone to the seamstress and i thought great. i told them at the next fitting i would have my shoes and we could measure for the dress to be hemmed. i found a pair of shoes a week later and called the shop about my dress to measure for the hem with my shoes and they said it was at the seamstress and gave me her number so i called her and told her what i would need when the dress was returned to the store. no problem right. after about 2 weeks i called them again and asked where my dress was and they told me it hadn't come back yet. ok. then around october 22 i had to fly to texas to take care of my grand children because my daughter was having surgery. i called the shop again when i was in texas and explained that i had not even tried on the dress for the first fitting and still needed a second measurement for the hem. i also explained that the dress still couldn't be located. i was assured by one of the employees that there would be no problems and when i returned from my trip,they would have my dress. on november the 6th i called again and told them i needed to be fitted for my dress and no one seemed to care that the dress was still missing and that my date was getting closer, but was assured that the dress was still with the seamstress, and would be there soon. the nex week i called again and asked to speak to the owner and explained that my dress was lost and i was running out of time. she then said to let her lookinto it and would call me back. about an hour later she called and said the dress had been located and had been put on the layaway rack and had been there since the end of september. she then told me to come in that day ( this was the week before i had to leave for our occasion) after trying on my dress and fitting for the hem she said it would be ready by wednesday the 13th of november and in her shop. i wait
ed until they opened on the 13th and called about my dress before driving 40 miles to see if it was ready and the girl said the dress was not there and i told her the owner assured me it would be in the store and i would be leaving the next day. then she said the owner wasn't there and she would contact her about my dress. i asked for the owner to call me. after several hours the seamstrees called me and said that she was still working on the hem and had to sew the beading back on by hand and that she had not even had the dress all this time, almost 2 months. she assured me that she would call me when the dress was ready and that she would meet me with my dress to give it to me. i had no other choice but to meet her in the dark in the middle of nowhere to get my dress not even knowing if it was right or not. i still had not heard from the owner.i waited for the owner to contact me, but she never did so the next morning i called her and asked her if she did not think that she should have called me about my dress and the way she and her employees had handled the problems that i had been having. i had by then turned into a real bridezilla. if not for them this ocassion would have been problem and stress free. the seamstress di a wonderful job with the dress considering how little time she had to work with the dress, but i would never do business with them again.
