Riverchase Carpet and Flooring

Overall it went smoothly, although this is the first time I've ever had carpet installed myself so I felt like the initial salesperson (Jason) could have been more informative regarding the whole process. He had a rather laissez-faire attitude. The sales person I ended up working with (Diana ) was very prompt & efficient as were the installers.

Great! A little slow responding to our initial inquiry, but the installers were great. This kind of install requires glue on both sides of the pad, and looks and feels great. Polite, thorough and careful, I can't recommend the crew we had enough. Thank you!

Sales person was very helpful in identifying our needs and recommending the perfect product.  The installation team worked very hard and quickly, and they did a great job including clean up.

The representative was excellent and personable when we were selecting the carpet.  He did a very good job of helping us choose a color that would look good with the different colors in the rooms, hall, and adjoining bathroom. However, the installation did not go smoothly.
He sent out a group of very young, inexperienced installers.  They either measured wrong or the representative didn't order enough carpet and so they did not have enough to finish the job. Though we heard the installer call the representative and tell him what happened, it didn't  seem to sink in.  After the installers left we called the representative because of our concerns.  We could tell he had his attention on something other than the call and didn't listen at first.  When we finally got his attention he was surprised that the installers had not finished the job and that he needed to order more carpet.  We did manage to get him to come to our house to see the problem and tell us how they were going to handle a tricky area in the landing, but when the job was finished 2 days later, he didn't come to check on the quality of their work.
The representative could have avoided most of these issues if he had:
1.  Chosen a more experienced installer or closely supervised the installation with the installers he used.
2.  Explained to us before hand that we would have a seam in the landing/hall.  We then could have arrived at the best place to locate the seam or possibly have changed to a different kind of carpet.  We should have had options presented to us and arrived at solutions prior to installation.

After terrible service at a big box service that had me feeling really "low", I saw great reviews for this outlet and stopped by to see what they could offer. Salesman Jeffrey was courteous and professional. I told him in general terms what I was looking for and he made a recommendation. While not exactly what we  were looking for when we first set out to buy carpet, I think Jeffrey made an exceptional recommendation. Both he and the installers were on professional and right on time when they said they would arrive. We ultimately spent less than half of what we thought we were going to, while still able to achieve the level of value we wanted to get. Hopefully the carpet will meet the demands and warranty that it is supposed to. I will definitely be going to Riverchase for future flooring needs.ar

We replaced the flooring on our steps with carpet and the entire upstairs floor of the house...2 bedrooms, a hallway /alcove and 2 bathroom vanity areas... with solid, prefinished wood. We went to Riverchase Carpet and Flooring because of good experiences with the company on earlier projects. Jeffrey worked with us at the store to choose the wood and carpet and came out to the house to measure and work up the estimate. He was very helpful discussing all the options available to us. The cost included removal and disposal of the old carpet as well as the materials and installation for the new flooring. It was less than a week after our initial visit to the store that the crew came to do the work. It took 2 full days for the crew to complete the task and it looks great. The only item we have to close the book on the project is getting some work done on the stairs...after using the stairs with the new carpet for a couple of weeks, there are a few areas that could use tightening and securing. We are scheduling that work now.
Overall we are happy with the experience of working with Riverchase and the results.

Everything was positive from beginning to end. Did exactly what they promised, when promised. We shopped this project aggressively, and they were very competitive on price. Installers were polite and efficient.

The installers were punctual, did quality work and were very nice people. They knew I had an appointment at 5:15 PM on the day of installation and finished in time for me to keep my appointment. I will use them again as I continue to replace my flooring.

The company has been great to deal with. Jo and a newer employee came out to measure and helped us choose the best carpet for our home and budget. Unlike some other companies, they encouraged us to stick with a cost effective plan, rather than going with something super expensive. We're getting good quality carpet at a great price. We've visited the showroom twice and they were great there as well.

They did a good job. I only had one small problem. I have tried to get in touch with the owner because there were some small stains on my living room carpet that must have been done by accident. I haven't been able to get in touch with them. They did a wonderful job but I feel that they were so nice to get our business but now we can't get in touch with them. The guys who did the work though were excellent. I would hesitate to use them again only because I don't like when I can't get back in touch with a company after the work is complete.

Installers were prompt and professional when installing the carpet. We never had to call them back for any corrections.

Everything is fine. They did what they are supposed to do.

I highly recommend Jo to help you with your flooring needs. She was very friendly, knowledgeable and made sure we were happy the whole way through. We had spoken with 2 other sales people from other companies and got quotes from one. We liked Riverchase the best. Their prices were better and Jo was very helpful and upfront about her recommendations and how much each area of flooring would cost. They did a great job on everything.

Great. Jo came out and measured, made recommendations and gave me a quote within 1 day. She even sent additional samples when I changed my mind and came back to help me narrow my choices to match my newly painted wall color. Helped me pick the stocked carpet that we could get at a better price. The installation looks great, but, they did knock a drawer pull off my large dresser and my bed isn't back together quite right since then. It was an iron bedrame, so to install carpet it had to be taken apart and moved. So that was the only downside.

Very good experience from the initial meetings with Doug at the store to the 4 days spent with Mark and Seth laying the floors



Doug was very good with helping us decide what type and size tile we wanted to put in the kitchen. He was always available to answer any questions that we had for the project.



Mark and Seth were in my house for almost 5 days and were great. They were working with a lot of weird cuts and a floor that wasn't level but the finished floor is beautiful. My squeaks are gone too. They would patiently answer my questions and they always made sure everything was cleaned up before they left for the day. When they were finished Mark mopped the floor 3 times and gave us directions on how to care for the floor. My refrigerator is hooked back up. The laundry room is put back together. All I have to do is clean up a little residual dust that came from removing the original floor. They had already cleaned the countertops and top of the island.



We are having the carpet replaced with hardwoods in our den and master bedroom and will definitely be using Riverchase Carpet and Flooring for that project as well.

We hired RCF based upon reputation, being local and the Angie's List plaque in their showroom.

We asked them to 1) install new wood in our den, hallways, and rebuild our stairs, 2) match the wood to our existing DR and LR, and 3) sand, stain and finish all to match.
Floor laying was done very professionally and looks really good. New wood matched exisitng wood. RCF was punctual and showed up when promised. However, I specifically asked them to re bulid the stairs to the second floor. They said they could do it but it would cost a little more. I felt the price quotes was good. ($11,000 for ~500 sq. ft. new wood, matched, finished, and stairs rebuilt) RCF told me they would rebuild my stairs which were carpeted previously. We removed all the carpeting ourselves, pull up all the staples, tack strips, sanded the floor, and screwed them down to make sure all the squeaks were gone. RCF showed up and installed the new wood in about 3 days (~500 sq ft.), did the stairs in 2 days, sanded, stained and finished the floor/stairs in another 3 days. We moved out to a motel for 5 days during this process. When we returned, I was very pleased with the floors but the stairs were something I was not happy with. The stair treads and railings were beautiful, but the trim work (risers, trim around walls, etc.) looked sloppy, like a someone without good carpentry skills did the work. Large gaps between finish pieces and the walls, visible saw kerfs in the side boards, unfilled nail holes everywhere, mounting screws showing from the railing posts, finish coating just slopped all over the place, unevent trim borads, and so forth. They and quot;finishedand quot; this job over two weeks ago, I am still working on completing the finish work so all the wood trim can be painted so we can move our furniture back in and use our house. I asked our rep (Jo Sanderson) if they were going to fix the trim on the stairs. She said they don't do that level of work, just the flooring. SO BE WARE IF YOU EXPECT A COMPLETEd FINISHED JOB FROM RCF!
RCF, IMHO is a great FLOORING company but I would not recommend them in any way shape or form for finish/ tirm work. If you want great floors then use them, but don't expect them to and quot;finishand quot; the trim beyond quarter round on the base boards.
