Myers "fixed" our HVAC several times for American Home Shield.  Each time it would break again.  Given that it was 38yo at the time I'm not all that surprised.  The worst problem came when Myer's own technician said the unit was beyond repair and recommended AHS honor the warranty to replace the unit.  After that Myer's office staff "lost" that particular report and said that technician no longer worked there. Despite being able to provide them with a ticket given to us by the technician they could not find their paperwork and refused to work from our paperwork.  It took 6 weeks calls from myself to Myer's, and from myself to AHS to resolve the issue.  During this time we had no HVAC at all and could not move the old unit until AHS was satisfied it was beyond repair and for what reason.  We would call Myer's and AHS several times a week and each time they each blamed the other for failing to find the paperwork, or they would promise some resolution that never occurred.  We finally complained so much that we were able to get another opinion about the unit and I stood with that repairman and listened as he called AHS to report the failed unit.  I have never, in all my years, had service so poor as from Meyer's and American Home Shield.  We cancelled our contract with AHS.  And oh, by the way, you can't really sue a company like AHS because they have arbitration agreements.

I was referred to Myers by my home warranty company to service my home air conditioner when it went out. They were contacted on Thursday morning. My warranty company's policy is the provider is supposed to respond within 48 hours, not including the weekend. To start with, you can't even get Myers to answer their phones during business hours! I left two messages and the third time I called I waited on hold for more than 20 minutes before a person picked up the line. And, when she did, she told me in no uncertain terms that they only service Oxford on Tuesdays. They didn't care if we were off on Friday or if it was an emergency. They only service Oxford on Tuesdays. I was finally able to call my warranty company back and get another company to come out on Friday. I have no idea how this company even stays in business. It's certainly not because of their cooperative efforts or friendly customer service.

This sage is ongoing and too long to detail... Meyers has been sent to our home by our home warranty company, American Home Shield (AHS), several timesver the past 18 mo due to malfunction of HVAC that was original to house in 1978.  Last year they refilled freon twice I think, and replaced a wiring harness. It took several trips to find the problem related to the wiring harness and we were without air for over a week.
This spring the AC would not function once again.  In addition, on annual service by another contractor,  our heater was found to be cracked and leaking carbon monoxide into our home.  Under the law our furnace was turned off and and tagged as dangerous.  We once again called American Home Shield who, in their infinite wisdom, contracted two different providers to come to our house, of course for two different services charges, at two different times. We stated our dissatisfaction with this idea and AHS agreed to allow one contractor to do the work on both units for one service fee.  Once again, Myers happened to be the contractor AHS sent out.
The tech that came to our home, Eddie, was prompt, knowledgeable and professional.  After examination he wrote a ticket stating "found other company (referring to our annual service company) has shut off gas to furnace due to cracked chambers. I confirmed that.  Also found both condenser coil and eval coil can't hold freon".  Several days later we were contacted by AHS via email stating they were ordering parts for the heater in order to replace the unit.  The AC was not mentioned. I immediately contacted AHS and Myers and told both emphatically that Myers would not be replacing our unit and that we wanted the cash out option.... and "Oh, by the way, what about the AC"? Thus has begun a yet to be resolved battle.  AHS said they did not have documentation on the AC.  Meyers said they "misplaced" the original ticket.  I repeated to each that I had a copy of the ticket and would send it.  Each said my copy was not sufficient. We requested that a tech return to our house and were told "no" to that also.  How then could they resolve the problem?
Finally Myers located the lost ticket. Per AHS the information they received from Myers stated the model number on the AC was worn off (duh, its 34 yr old).  AHS mentioned nothing about the "can't hold freon" part. Now AHS has decided to send a new tech to the house. Of course we'd like that tech to be Eddie, but per Myers  "Eddie doesn't work here anymore". We also requested a tech come that day as it was already Friday.  The answer was no.  So here we sit, 19 days into this ordeal with no heat or air.  The lows on some nights has reached the upper 40's and the highs have been almost 90 on some days.
As far as customer service, most times we have contacted Myers there has been an exceptionally long hold time up to 20 min. AHS could vary from 5 min to 30 min.  We have requested to speak to a supervisor at each company.  AHS originally refused my request stating "there is no supervisor in this building".  Later AHS said to speak with a supervisor our "request had to be emailed and we would here from a supervisor in 24 to 48 hours".  We have passed that time with no return call.  As for Myers, our request for a supervisor was similar...."not one here".  We asked to speak with the owner and were told "you'll just have to keep calling back until you catch him".  We asked that he call us and, basically, I interpreted their repeated "you have to catch him" to mean we should not expect to hear from him.
In addition to long hold times and no supervisors, each time we contact either company we have to start from zero on information.  Of course they have "notes" from our previous calls, but not once did either companies notes actually reflect our previous conversations with them or with the other company.  In fact, AHS and Myers continually contradict each other.  We would recount for both what we had been told by the other and it was obvious neither company knew what the other had actually said.
We have contacted an attorney and are considering legal action against both companies.
Obviously I would never recommend either company to anyone. I will update my post with final outcome. CAVEAT EMPTOR.

We were told Myers would come out to see what was wrong with our AC from our home warranty company. We were told that Myers would call us. I believe we actually had to call them to get the appointment scheduled. We first contacted Myers on the 23rd of August. The first technician came out and told us that our unit was frozen - which it was not. We had to call them back the next day. They took over 4 or 5 days to call in a part authorization and only because I kept calling the warranty company to check if it had been done. We were constantly told things would be done in the afternoon...only to call the warranty company the next morning to learn nothing had been done.
They told us on a number of occasions that they would call us and never returned those calls. 19 days later we finally had a new AC unit installed--again, only because I kept calling to check on the status. Every time I called I felt I was being given a story of some sort. There was always an excuse. The home warranty people would tell me one thing and Myers (when I could reach them) would tell me something different. I've made it clear to American Home Shield that they should NOT use this company. Apparently others have as well but they are still using them.
The actual techs that came to replace the unit were on time and very friendly. They were apologetic about how long it took etc. Other than the first tech who clearly didn't know what he was doing - the other 3 techs we dealt with were nice and seemed to know what they were doing.
The office staff and people who handle getting items approved and scheduled were the issue in my opinion. They clearly are not concerned with customer service. If we have issues in the future I will certainly request another company!

Called our home warranty people Monday 7/22 for an emergency call on the a/c unit due to health reasons. AHS put in the request to Myers that day. We did not receive a phone call from Myers that day but called them to see what was up that afternoon. They stated that they never received the request. The lady took our phone number and said someone would call us right back. No one did. AHS submitted another request to them that day ? I called them after I called Myers on the 22nd. The next morning, no call. We called Myers and they said they would be there between 2 and 4. They showed up in the middle of a storm and said they couldn?t work on it during a storm and they were going to Sterrett (we live in Alabaster) for another job. This being an emergency, we asked the technician if he could come back. He said no. We called Myers to see if someone could come out after the storm and they took our number and said someone would call us back. I believe that time someone actually called back and that is when the next day was scheduled for before 10 or so. They came and all it needed was Freon. 3 days in the South with no air conditioner and health problems is a PROBLEM. Myers used to be a good, prompt company to work with but apparently they are not anymore. We put in a request to AHS to NEVER send them to our house again.

Called in AHS for a service call and they chose Myer's.  I was nervous because all of the reviews online were negative.  The technician arrived 20 minutes after his call ahead.  It turns out that I needed a new thermostat, which he replaced within the hour.  I really have no complaints on the company or his service.  If I was paying out of pocket, I probably would have gone with Sears or another local provider.

Alagasco had red carded us for a gas leak near our outdoor grill.  This means they had turned off and locked all gas coming to our home.  Our home warranty company, American Home Shield, contracted with Myers to fix the problem, hence the $60 copay.  When the plumber arrived he said the gas company was wrong about where the leak was & fixed another area.  When the gas company arrived to return our gas service the leak was still there exactly where they originally said.  They then, taking pity on us, were able to isolate the leak and return service to the inside of our home.  This however kept us from having gas fed to our outdoor grill & generator.  American Home Shield again contacted Myers but they did not respond back to me.  I finally called Myers myself twice before I was told that they wouldn't come out until 12-4 this afternoon.  When I explained that I had to go and take care of my bedridden father and that I wouldn't be here, they basically told me that I had to be convenient for them not the other way around.  Before hanging up the woman on the other end even laughed about this to her coworker.

Yes, I recommend this pro
Had them come out for a home warranty call.  Gentleman was very professional and replaced the air handler blower unit up in my attic.  It was an odd model so they had to order it and it took a couple days to come in.  Since it was the upstairs unit, we weren't in a rush to get it replaced.  He seemed very knowledgeable.  Since it didn't cost me anything, I can't really give any comments on their pricing, but I would defnitely allow them to bid on any future work I may have on my a/c

The company was responsive and punctual.
My air conditioning system was blowing hot air during the heat spell in March 12. The first company my warranty company sent out pawned me off on this company.
The tech that came out was nice enough, but not professional at all. I don't think techs should smoke while working on my house and I'm standing right there. Slovenly would be a good description.
He took a reading of my coolant, said it was a little low, and filled it, then left. I had already paid the first company for the service call a week before, so it didn't cost me anything at that point.
Come to find out two months later that my system is full of leaks and should have been diagnosed immediately as needing replacement. I'm not sure why two companies couldn't figure this out. The forth company knew it right away, and it's getting replaced today. After two weeks without air conditioning.
Overall, not professional or honest.

Called National Home Warranty to request an A/C company from Angie's List and was given few choices. Myers was the best option on paper.  Nice guy came out to change A/C fan, which was working and keeping house semi-cool.  As soon as tech left house temp went up continually until reaching nearly 80 degrees at 10 PM at night. Called at 8:00 next morning to get the tech back and was told there were "too busy" (tech out, full schedule, etc) today and we would have to reschedule to another day. Hopefully tomorrow..  Still in process so hope tech shows up tomorrow...
