Working with Kevin at Mainline was the best choice that I made during my search for a new unit. Our hime was not heating and cooling evenly and we had several quotes provided and several and quot;strategiesand quot; to solve the problem. Kevin came out and looked at everything, explained what was needed. He was the only one that guaranteed his solution would work. After sending me the quote and agreeing to the package and product type I wanted, we moved forward with the a new unit. They did all the worked and they did it right. The installers were very nice and professional and did not mess up the house in any way. It was after the installation that I was really glad i went with them. The unit was not solving the problem we wanted originally which was even cooling. At first I thought we had just wasted our money...same problem, but with a new unit. Kevin called me and sent his installers back out and reviewed the problem. After several items were check, they determined that I did need a larger unit and they installed it without an charge to me. After that everything went great and the home is cooling wonderfully. We went from a unit that ran all the time and didn't cool well to one that runs in much shorter cycles and cools very well. i am confident if i had gone with anyone else, the problem would not have been solved and I would have been out more money for a larger unit. Every company quoted the same type and size unit, but Kevin was the only one that told me if it didn't work, they would stay here until it did....and they actually came through on their word. I was referred to the company from someone else and I look forward to referring others to them.

The repair that day was done properly. The problems occurred weeks later. They showed up unannounced one morning to replace the coil even though we hadn't ordered that service. They called several times to tell me my coil was in and to schedule an appointment. I finally got them to understand that I did not request the coil be replaced and to please stop calling. After having another company look at the unit they found the cause of the problem was buildup in the condensate pipe and not the coil. The coil would have cost me $800 with labor. The other company only charged me $89 for their servicing of the unit. I refuse to deal with Mainline again after this experience.

The experience overall was satisfactory. I will definately use this company again.
Hopefully round 2 of the annual maintenance program will go just as well.

Two experiences with them: 1. Mainline installed the system in the home originally (built ~1999). Noticed low cooling and frost on outside line. Called for service and they diagnosed low refrigerant due to a leak in evaporator coil (oil evident on coil). They ordered coil and replaced it promptly. The repair solved the problem but I noticed several months later that they bent the access door flange on the air handler and did not reinstall the all the access door screws. The bent flange left a small air leak into the air handler which hurts the performance some. The gap was roughly 1/4" x 3" long. I didn't bother to call them back as I could bend the flange back myself and reinstall the door correctly. They solved the problem but for $1000 I expect a professional skilled tradesperson to take the 2 minutes required to install the access door back correctly. 2. I called them for a system inspection a year later and they gave what I felt was deceptive pricing for replacing the reversing valve relay/contactor. It was basically a ridiculous labor charge ($200 for 10 extra minutes of work beyond the routine inspection/maintenance). They offered a lower labor charge if you join their "club" program. I paid the minimum club fee. Their business model basically seemed to me that they have a low "inspection" price (not sure what they actually do for an inspection - they wouldn't give me details over the phone) and then stick you with a huge labor charge for any small parts that might need replacement if you don't join their "club". I wil go with someone that offers per item parts and labor pricing next time. I'm a technically trained person and can understand just about everything about how an AC system works. I felt like they were trying to "snow me" and get me to pay their annual "club" fee. I felt like they were not totally honest and straight forward in their pricing.
