I have had this company for over three years and the service has continued to decline. They put a new unit in and it consistently has challenges and when they go to do their maintenance, they don’t do it accurately and then Keri cost onto me as the consumer. They lack integrity and failed to follow up on their promises

The heating was not working and they've been servicing unit for 6 yrs now and the guy looked at the air conditioner and the heater and he said it should take 5 gallons of Freon for it to cool and I just don't believe that it needed that much because the cooling was fine. And the time before, they have told me that it would not work on anymore because it needed to be replaced but they continue to come and I don't feel like they are honest with me.

Problems on top of problems. It took them over 3 months to get one brand new very expensive variable speed system to operate properly. When set to cool, the air conditioning ran on the highest speed continually until bumped back manually or by programmed/scheduled time. The high mode of a variable speed unit is its least efficient setting, and one we had rarely even heard with our previous variable speed units. Our electric bill for these months was more than $200 per month higher than it's been any month since the unit was finally fixed (all it needed was a new board). Another unit, a mini-split, has had multiple malfunctions, and the line(s) have clogged up twice, overflowing and ruining cabinets in the process. We didn't realize that we had a refrigerant leak that had never been repaired, or for that matter, that we had ever had a refrigerant leak, until the second time the unit overflowed at the end of September 2017. By this time, we had already switched to another company for Maintenance because of our total lack of confidence in Island Air, but called them first because we felt like this lemon of a unit was Island Air's responsibility. The Island Air technician who came out told us the unit needed refrigerant, and just just happened to mention that they (Island Air) had never located the "original" refrigerant leak, and that leak still needed to be found. In other words, they didn't repair it back in 2015/2016 when they first discovered the leak and the service warranty was still with them. At that point we called our current maintenance provider (Roberts HVAC ), who traced the leak, contacted the Manufacturer and is now replacing the inside unit under the Manufacturer's Warranty.

We had just purchased a home in the area and the Heat Pumps looked a little rough so I called Island Air and asked if they could send someone out to look them over to evaluate them for me. I was not sure what conditions they were in. I asked if there was a fee and if so how much. The employee told me $100. I confirmed the amount and set the time for the following day. The next day the service truck arrived and I spoke with Adam. I showed him the units and he said they were pretty old R22 and not worth putting any money in them and that the coolant to recharge them is $100 per pound. He said one had a dead compressor and the other two were ok on coolant but a little low. I began to ask questions about replacing them and we talked about different options for several minutes and he said his supervisor could provide a quote. I said okay. He went to the attic to check the air handlers to determine the size of each unit because the stickers had worn off. He informed me there were two smaller units were 2 ton and single larger unit was a 3.5 ton. Shortly there after I pulled my check book out and said they told me the price would be $100 and he said he had to go to his truck to complete his documents. After and unusually long time he returned and said that the price was $100 per unit so the total was $300. He asked if I wanted to call them and I said yes. I called and spoke to Cindy (I believe) I explained the situation to her and she said there is no way they can have someone service 3 units for less than the $300. I explained, he didn't service them, he just looked them over and I was quoted $100 the day before. After informing her that I would pay the amount requested but they will never get my business. She then asked me if I would hold while she listened to the recording of my conversation the day before! I said sure that would be fine. After several minutes she came back on the line and said that since they did not clarify very well she asked if I could meet her in the middle and pay $150. I agreed and paid the amount. In my opinion that was a poor decision on her part. I will not do business with them and yes we are getting bids to replace all three heat pumps. In the area of $23,000 and I will not ask nor would even consider a bid from them. I believe very strongly that your word means something. If I quoted someone a price and it was in error that would be on me. I would hope to earn your business by being up front and honest. Oh and by the way where I came from it is illegal to record any conversation without giving prior notice to the other party. Maybe it's different here in Alabama.

Steven was very friendly and professional.  He arrived promptly, found the  problem quickly and had the necessary equipment with him to fix it.  In addition, I was not charged extra for it being a Sunday, which is outstanding customer service!!  I would highly recommend Island Air to everyone with heating or air conditioning problems!!

I had a house full of women down for spring break at our 2nd home at the beach. The thermostat messed up and it got really hot really fast. I actually called two companies and this one got there first. The service man took care of the problem and had the air running in no time. He actually sold me a bi annual maintenance program for 130.00 and didn't charge for the repair that day! They are great people to use.

They are terrific. They come out and are very responsive. They do the job. I have had air conditioners replaced, I've had them come out and clean the air conditioner when something is froze over. They are responsive. Price wise they may be a little high but some of that might be the area I live in.

Technician was very prompt and professional and did a very good job.
That day, the temperature was too cold to check the system completely so when the temperature was higher, they contacted us to come back and finish the work.
Several days later, they followed up with a phone call to make sure everything was operating properly.
Our daughter has used this company several times and highly recommends them and we will do the same.
