Toriginal oist - his company sucks you in with a pronise that they did not honor. This company claims on their website that they work woth honrsty with no deceit, this is not true. they came to my home to do an estimate for an insurance claim. I have to have my roof replaced. They advised that if i chose not to go with them or if the insurance did not pay the claim, that i was under no obligation to them. When I advised I wanted a written estimate of their costs so that i could shop around, they advised they do not give wortten estimates and that if I did not have them do the work they would bill me for their time....$500-$1000 for 1 hour of their time! Their website states free estinates, which is what we were told we were getting.....Thy also advised it would take 2 weeks for an appointment but when we talked about going under contract, it all of a sudden changed to 3 weeks.....I would recommend going weith another roofing company as these guys do not do what they say! I have not yet decided to go through with the contract or have them attempt to bill me for their so called time spent......
Update - After reading the response from the provider, I am completely convinced that I would not use this company for future work. The three week wait was on AboveBoard Roofing, NOT my insurance company as I had the insurance check in hand the night I signed the contract. The next available appt they had was three weeks out.... The company did not represent themselves correctly at the time they reached out to me by roaming through my neighborhood and knocking on my door because they were looking for work.....I have dealt several times with Amber, the owner and she has been great. She did what she said she would do. As for the tarping of my roof, yes, they did do that, but I had to call them to and quot;remindand quot; or and quot;informand quot; them of it because the sales man initially stated they would be out the next day tafter I signed the contract o tarp the house, they were not. I had to call and was infomred by the lady in the office that she knew nothing about it. After talking to Amber later that day, they were out to tarp the house within hours.....but again, I had to call and ask again, they did not do it on time or when they stated!!!!
Once they started on the roof, I was advised it would take one day....because measurements were not done correctly, they ran out of shingles and was unable to get any additional shingles until the following Monday. This was on Friday afternoon. Also, on the day they were to install the roof, they advised they would get started early, 6-7 am. When I had not heard from or seen the crew by 9am, I had to call and ask where they were. Amber advised they should have already been there, as they left her home over an hour prior to my call. They finally showed up about 30 minutes later. The only issue I had with the workers was that they left their leftover McDonalds lunch on my carport and caused ants. Other than that, they were professional, nice and skillfull. I am basing my overall rating on my overall experience beginning to end. Although Amber took care of the issues I had, it still took time, effort and agrivation on my part. That is something that i should not have had to go through.
"As of July 29, 2012 Aboveboard Roofing has not installed the homeowner's roof. Her roof is scheduled to be replaced by Aboveboard Roofing. As far as it taking 3 weeks, her insurance company is who took so long taking care of her not Aboveboard Roofing. The homeowner signed a contract with Aboveboard Roofing contracting us to work with her insurance company on her behalf, and meet with her insurance company and represent her at the adjuster appt to insure her roof is to get replaced by her insurance company. Aboveboard Roofing also tarped the homeowner's roof in order to protect it until the roof could get replaced. When the homeowner contacted us about possibly going with another roofing company, it was at that time that Aboveboard roofing informed her that she would be billed for the services already performed. The homeowner recieved a written estimate from us and it was at that time that the homeowner decided to hire us to replace the roof. Aboveboard Roofing has done everything we said we would do and have been nothing but professional when dealing with this homeowner."
