Terrible quality and workmanship. Late to show up on the job each day and early to leave so of course it took a lot longer to complete than they estimated. Both sections of this project were out of square by 1.5" and more. In one section this is within only 8 feet of length so is totally unacceptable. I found the error during the framing of this section so they adjusted the frame to square it up, but the foundation is still 1.5" out of square under the framing, since they didn't poor the foundation and lay in blocks square. Front entry is out of square by 1.5" in 6 feet, which made it very difficult for me to install the laminate flooring later. The overhang is different on one side of front porch to the other by 4 inches since they didn't center up the section on the existing house. They dug the footing only 4 inches deep in one corner and now the job is 2 years old, it is settling and 2 doors are in a bind because the corner is sinking. Appears to be getting worse. Of course I didn't see what they were doing until it was too late. Tried to make it a little more acceptable by building the dirt up around the outside of the house, but appears that wasn't successful. I need to call a foundation specialist but don't have funds just now.Siding and trim was also poorly done. I had to rip off much of it later and eventually gave up and hired someone to side the whole house. Likewise sheetrock finishing was sloppy so I had to add some mud and finish the interior walls. Interior trim was also sloppy with splices where unnecessary and was barely attached in some places. They were slow to start, showed up at 9 am or later and left by 2 or 3 pm. They estimated completing the job in 3 weeks but took 3 months. Foundation blocks are in disarray in that they didn't start correctly and have several cut blocks in each course. They left the doors open when we weren't home and this was in the winter time. I know this because the whole house reeked of burnt plastic, due to the burn pile near the front door that I found plastic particles in from wiring and other materials. Roofing is only acceptable part of job except where addition meets the original house. I had to hire another company to re-deck a portion to make it look right and get shingles to lie down. They didn't have the roof decking attached correctly where the addition met the house. The plumbing had considerable leaks and was sloppily done. I ended up replacing much of the piping. The washing machine plumbing was reversed (hot on cold side) but at least that was easy to fix. I did most of this myself because I didn't want them to continue messing up what I had.
Description of Work: Addition to existing home. Front Porch, enclosed entry, laundry room, closet, and jacuzzi room. Basically 2 sections were built on to house. Front addition was 12'x16' (6x16 enclosed). Side addition was 22x8. Additions were over a crawl space. They built these 2 sections from ground up attached to the house. Also roofed entire house and poured a 12'x12' concrete pad. Plumbing was included to 2 outdoor faucets, washing machine, and jacuzzi. Wiring was also included. Installed 9 vinyl windows, 2 outside doors, and 2 inside doors.
