The roofing and decking work was great. The cleanup was fine. I requested that they drive their truck onto boards in the lawn to prevent making ruts in the soft lawn, which they did, even though I had to provide several of the boards. The only reason the quality was not an "A" was the vinyl siding that they removed and reattached. The siding job was effective but pretty ugly and not terribly professional. All in all, I would use them again.

Randal showed up on time, measured the roof, and provided an quote for both a 20 year and a 30 year shingle.  We went with the 30 year shingle and the workers showed up about midday on the scheduled day and removed/replaced one field of the roof per day, for each of four days (the mornings were still on the cold side and the later start allowed to dew to dry).  The workers were careful not to remove more than they could replace before leaving for the day. The finished roof looks  great and we have not had any leaks.  The workers hauled off all the debris and ran a magnet around to pick up the loose nails.

Called budget roofing for an estimate and he came out on the 6th gave me a quote on a repair to my leaking chimney area of my roof. I called and agreed to the price. The work was down 2 days later. He tore out around chimney, removed corner molding, and shingles as needed. He installed water & ice shield underlayment, installed new flashing, and re-roofed the area. He would have provided a close matching shingle but, my husband wanted the shingles he wanted up there so, he bought the ones for the job. This was done when we were having single digit days and had one warm day that the work could be done on. He was very understanding of my husband wanting the shingles he wanted and he did a great job. The work took a bit of time but, he did a really great job I was told by my husband later. Have had no problems since and was given a warranty for the labor as well.

I would use this company with no problems or reservations again. Highly recommend them to all my friends as well.

Half the roof had hail damage which the insurance company paid for and I paid out of pocket for the other half of the roof.  After it is said and done I feel that I over paid for their services and there where some quality issue that have come up after the job has been completed.  Since the roof installation I have had Budget Roofing give me some quotes on some other jobs and the where a lot higher that the other quotes that I received. My advice to any one considering using Budget  Roofing would be to diffidently get other quotes for the job and a full explanations of work to be preformed.

Budget roofing did a good job of installing a new roof, fixed several leaks and installed 2 skylights.  I had this roof done in 1999 and that contractor screwed things up so bad that by 2008 I was repairing leaks.  Budget is reputable and does a good job.  It's been over a year and there are still no leaks.

I called numerous repair outfits to get a repair done that leaked water into the attic.  I got different estimates ranging from a new roof( on a 4 year old roof) to caulking solutions.  I am so happy to find a company that knew exactly the source of the water leak by experience.  Once, I signed the work agreement, they came out on the scheduled day and fixed the problem.  The crew asked the see the leak so they knew exactly what they were trying to change.  They were polite and quick. So far after one storm no water leak.  They took off the old flashing around chimney and put new flashing.

I was most impressed with the demeanor Randel Whitt demonstrated as we went over the needed repairs. I didn't feel like I was getting conned or otherwise directed into something the roofer wanted, as others had done prior to his estimate.  Also, unlike the others, there was no pressure to make up my mind immediately. Very straightforward and honest presentation compared to the others who came out to estimate. All options were discussed in an unhurried way
After that, work progressed as expected with only minor glitches. He even did some extra trim work for no additional charge himself, when I expressed concerns related to the original roof construction (not his work).
Overall, very happy and used him immediately for another roof on a rental property I own.

Randall Whitt came out on Tuesday and gave us a very reasonable estimate.
He had the roof replaced and waste picked up by Friday. They had use more material than Randall had estimated to repair the area where the holes were, but the extra cost was not inappropriate.
We are very pleased with the work performed and will highly recommend the company to our friends.

I contacted Mr Whitt in early to mid August. He came out and agreed that it was a bad installation job and agreed to remedy it at no labor charge. I purchased the necessary wood, nails, paint, etc. A two-man crew came out on Aug 31st and basically got everything done except the final paint (I had applied Kilz to all the raw boards before they were nailed up)  and rehanging one last section of gutter.  When the workmen left that Friday afternoon they said the would be back on Monday.  Since that was the Labor Day holiday I assumed they would return on Tues. Sept 4th.  I waited Tues and Wed  so on Thurs I called Mr Whitt.. He claimed he thought the job was already finished but would try and have someone come out either Fri or Sat (Sept 7 & 8) but if not definitely on Sunday the 9th. I explained that on Mon the 10th my husband was having surgery in Nashville and we would be gone for an undetermined amount of time.  Needless to say all three days were no show and I was only able to leave a message at their phone number. We returned home from Nashville on Mon Sept 17 in a torrential rain. Because the section of gutter had not been rehung (I was actually having that section replaced since it was a bit bent from a tree limb hit)  I had several inches of water in my garage. I contacted Whitt on Tues the 18th and once again he claim that he thought the job was already finished.  I did find out that while we were gone for that week his men had come over and painted the wood they replaced. I asked him how they got to the back of my house since all my privacy gates were locked and he assumed they just went across the roof to get to the back of my house. I do not want workmen on my property when I am not home!  He claimed that the company he had subcontracted to replace that section of gutter would be out on Thurs Sept 20th. As you guess it was another no-show. As far as I was concerned I was through with Budget Roofing and left a message on Mr Whitts phone on Monday Sept 24 that due to his numerous no-shows I did not want him to complete the work. On Thurs Sept 27th a team of men came to install the gutter! I told them to contact Mr Whitt but I did not want them on my property. I have since had another company finish this job.

I was advised that not only was the wood rotten and needed to be replaced but the cap which is metal, was just about rusted out. So a new cap was ordered and the wood frame repaired. There were no unexpected problems or delays in getting the work finished. I'd have this company do any other repairs to the roof or chimney.

Generally went well.  Work was very good with exception of painting.  They primed and painted with one coat and that was it.  Needed a second coat.  They "told me" to wait a couple of months and then paint it again.

It went very well. The crew worked hard and were through in a day and a half.
Worked long into the evening to complete the job.  There were no English speaking workers, but I was told later that I could have requested an English speaking crew.  This was not offered earlier, but the crew that did the work were very efficient.  They cleaned up very well and there was no signifiant residue to be cleaned up later.  They had a crew of five which caused the job to go very quickly.  Any problem areas were quickly addressed and remedied without any argument or discussion.  I found two leaks after the fist rain and they were repaired the same day.  The leaks did no damage to the house or walls.

It took a while but they got it done and took care of everything they needed to. There was a problem with replacing our skylight; they had to find the right size so that is what took a while, but they stayed at it. I guess it was about a month when they finally found it then came and finally trimmed everything back out. So it worked out well. They were honest and reasonable and lived up to everything that they promised. They did exactly what they said they would do and I will use them again in the future.

AWFUL!!!  Bad news in every way.  Don't trust anything they say or do.

DETAILS:
Caused extenstive further damage due to extreme negligence & poor workmanship.  Substandard work & materials.  Had icicles all over our attic the following winter.  Not honorable business owners; not properly licensed.

1) They cut corners you need to keep squared to waterproof your roof:  no felt barrier or ice shield, inferior materials, poor workmanship, no shingle warranty ever provided.  (To train their inept, drunken roofers, their price should be much lower as they are taking chances with your property.  I even found BEER CANS on our property afterwards.  Some of their men looked like criminals.)

2) They used workers who unnecessarily trashed our yard, left cans and bottles sittiing in our gutters, and cont?d working over 2 hours in a heavy thunderstorm causing additional damage to SIX ceilings in our home versus applying tarps to protect our home.  Plus, they left 3 vent pipes & surrounding holes uncovered during the 2-hour thunderstorm & the rainy night.  They had no tarps!  WORKING WITHOUT A NET MEANS YOU TAKE THE FALL!   No supervisor on site.

3) Their advertised 24-hour emergency service is not true.  We called before 6pm the night of the above disaster and got no callback that night.  (I guess they're busy answering those 100+ calls/complaints they get every day; this is according to Tina Whitt's sister on 6/29/11).

4) After agreeing to send someone out to do repairs, they sent the supervisor who didn?t have a flashlight, borrowed and broke mine so I was incapable of inspecting his attic work immediately, and he didn?t fix the leaks. (We discovered more leaks in same places twice more before we determined that their word is worthless.)  The man either didn?t do what he was told or said he?d done it, and I?d discover later that he hadn?t.  More telling, we found they had apparently VANDALIZED our property with each return visit (damaged gutters, pushed in vent boots, damaged vent fan, etc.)

5) After all the above, rec?d a bill from BR asking for full payment payable in THREE DAYS or they?ll charge me 1.5% interest.   (And you'd think that an owner who claims to have been in business since age 16 would know how to properly spell "maling address".)  The roof leaked like a sieve during a rainstorm the very night we rec'd their bill.  Of course, their bill implied they were finished.  In fact, the BR owner had on-site inspected and, presumably, approved the quality of the work just days beforehand.

6) They did NOT have the legally-req?d. AL Home Builders License for jobs over $10,000.  This is important for large numbers of tornado victims who shouldn?t be victimized again because a company is incompetent, overextended, or greedy.

7) These are NOT professional roofers.  Professional roofers are prepared for rain, taking common-sense precautions.  Professionals hire skilled, reliable workers and monitor the work.  Professionals do not contract for work for which they are not licensed.  Professionals will not require vigilant inspections of all work + study of trade standards.  Professionals do not vandalize the home on return visits and are careful to rectify all honest mistakes in careful, professional work.  Professionals can be trusted to do quality work.

I cannot recommend this company and will NOT hire them again.  In describing this company, the following adjectives come to mind:  unprincipled, disreputable, untrustworthy, irresponsible, unqualified, unprofessional, and unlicensed.  (According to other roofers, they are also NEW OWNERS; I?ve learned they bought the company about 3 years ago.  That explains why they apparently have no concept of proper business protocol and wise business decisions.  Our diplomacy efforts were apparently interpreted as weakness and stupidity.  They seemed to hope we'd never discover how bad it was until it was too late and we'd already paid them.)

Needless to say, I had no confidence in the quality of their work.    Nothing they did on subsequent visits worked to allay my fears that I'd hired the wrong people.  Instead, everything they did during subsequent visits and interactions supported the fear that we had a substandard roof (born out by an inspection by an independent roofing contractor hired by the insurance company).  We were forced to hire another contractor to completely reroof our home and repair all the damage done by Budget Roofing.

Don't trust their word, and check with the BBB.  They don't have a great track record, & I'm NOT the only one to be dissatisfied with their work.  Bad news in every way.
Response from Budget Roofing
"I am the owner of Budget Roofing. I hate to hear any bad reports on our company and I do everything I can to fix it and make our customer happy. I have come to know there is no way you can please everyone. We have done over 6 thousands roof since my husband & I started our company in 2002. We did not buy this company we both worked 2 jobs for about 3 years until our company was steady. Starting a business at 16years old ( Me-Tina ) and 19 ( my husband-Randel ) was scary but we was both every head strong that we could and would make it work. Its been 9 years and 4 kids later and we are going strong. We do 3-4 houses a day 5-6 days a week. We have never told a customer we want stand behind our work and we want start now . We have all lic. required and we pull all our permits. I know this because My husband and I are the ones that do it. I work in our office and he does all of our estimates. He would love to do the work himself but if he doesnt do our estimates to get more jobs we wouldnt be were we are today. We have 3 ( American Crews ) & we have 1 ( Hispanic Crew ) . All of our guys have been with us since the begining ( 9 years ago Oct 2, 2011 ) If you are interrested in getting a estimate please fell free to give us a call at (256) 858-0641, Thanks , Randel & Tina Whitt"

They came out for an inspection, and said they would not take any money until the roof is holding up to their satisfaction. I called them up last Monday, and they said they would be out to check if everything is okay; so I can pay them. They did a very good job. They cleaned up really well. I could not ask for another company. Their price was reasonable. I have already recommended them to others. I had plans to put the roof during the fall; but due to the tornado, I had to get the roof done. I called them and they scheduled the appointment. They were here on time. It is a family run business.
