I am paying more with Scotts but getting better service.  Sometimes the price doesn't matter when it comes to getting the desired
service.  I am not looking back.

They ruined my yard.  Each treatment cost me around $45.  I talked to the owner and she sent out a supervisor named Ken.  He told me what I had and what I needed.  He sprayed and then the leaves and grass started coming out.  I even took pictures of it and I told the owner about it, she said she would come out but she never showed up.  I called her back and she sent out Ken again.  She said I had to call Scott, the representative, and I did.  He talked about sales with her products.  Ken was fairly well qualified.  We did a PH test.  I told him I entrusted him to get my yard right and he looked at me and did not say anything.  Later I found out that that they had fired him and that was his last day.  They had hired a guy who was married to somebody in the office; he never had any experience with lawn care.  To make a long story short, I spent about $1,800 in replacing the grass by somebody else.
Response from Scotts LawnService
"The customer had two types of fungus in his yard - Brown Patch and Take All Root Rot. These fungus had caused the damage in the customer yard. We had informed him of this and he purchased a fungicide treatment from us. The fungicide treatment keeps the fungus from spreading, but when the grass in the affected area completely dieds, the fungicide does not bring the grass back to life. An owner either has to resod those areas or wait for grass to spread back into those areas. We did spread supersoil in the dead areas at no cost to him to help promote growth in the dead areas. Again, we did not cause the damage. Also, it seems strange to me that he would write this review 3 years after he cancelled his service with us."

Previously had a local service who were bought out or taken over or merged with Chem lawn.  I did not have a problem with Chem lawn''s service, but got tired of every call to tell me service was being scheduled turned into a hard sell for additional services.  That was why i did not renew contract with Chem lawn.  Did it myself last 2 years.  Scotts made a point that they don't do the appointment/ upsell technique.

So far they have lived up to that.

So far, so good.  It is a continual process.  We have been using Scotts for several years and the grass looks great (when I remember to water it.)  They have come out promptly whenever I have had a problem, and have been able to identify and take care of the majority of them.  I constantly fight nutgrass, and they spray it when it is in the yard.  But we all know the only way to rid ourselves of the plague of nutgrass is to move!

"Thanks for the nice comments."
