Only dealt in person with the sub-contractors which I could have done on my own.  The work that was done was good.  I kept up with the hours myself and when I received the invoice for the painters it was based on the original estimate of hours when in fact they took about 2/3 of that time and had to call and have a corrected invoice sent.
The original reason we called was to get some outside facia rotting repaired.  When the other work had been done had to call and asked about when the carpenter would be coming.  They had not scheduled one but then sent someone out.  They never got back to us on that so that work never got done.
No one from Tierce ever came out to inspect the work or to make sure we were happy with the job.  I could have just hired the painter and the flooring guy myself and saved myself some money and trying to get the billing corrected.

All of the people that work for and with Doug are friendly, on-time and top-notch. They talk with us about what they're doing and get our input all the way through things. They've found a few surprises, of course, but have been able to take care of them easily. We've given them a couple of extra things we want done while we're in the middle of all of this and they' manage to work it in with what they're already doing.
I think my wife has already given a review, so this is from a different viewpoint.

"We appreciate the opportunity to bid on your concrete slab. Are you certain that you were not bidding contractors against subcontractors? Contractors mark up subcontractors, which is how we make our money. Also, were the people you hired insured? Again, we appreciate the opportunity and would welcome the opportunity to perform work on your home in the future if it arises. We are a full service home and business remodeling contractor. Please refer to our website for more information about our business."

Had an appointment to meet someone at my residence. No showed up , no one called. I know it was a small job but providing they did a good  job I had planned to have some major work done....If they couldn't meet me for the agreed time, they don't want my business I will be looking for someone else.

"I sent a message to 251-580-2377 on Monday . I was trying to reschedule due to the weather here on Monday. The rain had our crew delayed. I did not get a response. Please let us know if this was not the correct number."

WITHOUT EXCEPTION, Doug and his various subcontractors were courteous and professional, and the quality of their workmanship was outstanding. They went above and beyond what was asked and Doug kept a watchful eye on our budget. The finished job is absolutely beautiful! (Interestingly, before we hired Doug, we started doing a kitchen remodel using one of the "Big Box" stores. We had plenty of opportunity to regret that decision due to the inconsistent quality of their installers and huge time delays we experienced with THAT project. We wish we had hired Tierce for that job, as well.)
We were delighted with the experience working with Tierce Construction and will definitely call them back when we need additional work done.

The provider no showed the appointment.  When i called after 40 minutes, no one answered the phone.  I left a message. No one returned my call that afternoon, or the next day.  They may do good work, but how can i hire someone who doesnt show up for a scheduled estimate, or trust they would show up to do the work?
Response from

"I do apologize for there being no call back. I had mentioned to my secretary that since someone I know, who lives in that area, was recently shot at by a passer by, I did not want to take a job in that area. The appointment was supposed to have been cancelled. Again, I do apologize for no call back. That was our fault."

My experience with them went really well and I had no issue whatsoever.  He is basically a middleman, contractor.  He puts other group of guys that do their own work together and uses them for his sites.  He and his men were timely which was a nice thing.  He worked within my budget and was flexible about the payments.  He and his men were courteous.

We were in need of a cement slab to be poured within a few days. I called several contractors. Doug responded, drove out to the location gave me an estimate. Within a couple of days he organized the crew to form the foundation and poured the cement the same day. The slab turned out great.

I contacted Tierce Construction and was told I would receive a call back from the owner of the company to discuss the work that needed to be done at my home and at a rental property.  I never received a call back.  I contacted the company again and told them I never received a call from the owner.  They were apologetic and scheduled a home visit the following week to view the work needing to be done and to provide an estimate.  I took off from work early on the scheduled date to ensure I was available to meet with the owner and show him what I needed done.  He never showed up and didn't call to cancel or make another appointment.  I did receive a call from another contractor who stated he had gotten my name and number from Tierce Construction about performing the work.  I appreciate Tierce Construction giving my name and number to another contractor because I still need the work completed but I find the level of professionalism somewhat lacking.  If they could not do the work for me, I believe they should have contacted me out of courtesy and said they could not do it and then refer me to the other company.

"We apologize for not respondig the first time. We have been very busy. As far as the second incidence our son had to have surgery unexpectedly and we made sure another respectable contractor would contact you .Tierce Construction does not advertise and relies soley on referals and word of mouth. This method has worked for us for over eleven years. We love what we do and most importantly want our customers happy. Again, please accept our apologies!"

Due to the slope of the ground on one side of the house, water was pooling up and causing water damage. Doug came out and went theough everything with me and my wife and got us the quote in a couple of days. We called and said we wanted to have the work done. They were able to start about a week later and were finished in about a week. The ground on the side of the house was resloped with a central drain put in. This tied into the grate drain that was put in between the carport and driveway. This was all diverted into a buried drain that took the water away from the house. The spillway for the drain was my biggest concern due to the possibility of washout around it, but it was put in perfectly. The last heavy rain we had was a good test and there was no moisture on the inside, all the drains worked perfectly and the spill way showed no signs of washout. I will definitely be using Tierce for more projects in the future.

Doug is a general contractor, and although he does some of the work himself, relies upon subcontractors for each speciality; e.g. plumbing, carpentry, masonry, tile, marble, cabinetmaking, electrical, etc.  Doug is also an "idea man" with a good grasp of materiel capabilities, design, functionality, and building codes.  Doug worked with us each step of the way, converting our rough ideas into beautiful finished product.  His subcontractors are excellent craftsmen.  We are extremely pleased with the finished product.  However there are a couple of areas that I encourage others to pay special attention to if they engage Tierce Construction.  The first is time.  It seemed to me that several of the individual projects could have been running concurrently, instead of being done sequentially.  This caused the remodeling project to seemingly last forever.  Granted, the work occurred over the Christmas and New Years holidays, adding to the time required to finish.  Secondly, the overall cost of the project was more than I had expected.  Doug is very good about providing interim statements of work completion; but I found these statements difficult to understand.  Overall, the project cost around 25% more than I had expected given Doug's initial estimates.  Part of this overage was due to the cost of replacing the hot water heater which, fortuitously, failed while the plumber was on site.

I'm 70 and partially disabled.  I joined Angies list specifically to find a reliable handyman to complete several small  jobs that had been accumulating.  Not finding what appeared to be qualified handymen in the local area, I contacted Tierce Construction and asked if they would be interested in such a small job.  I'm certainly glad they were.  The owner, Doug Tierce came by a few days later to do the work himself.  He's a former engineer who went into construction work a few years back when the economy forced his previous employer, a large chemical company, to close.  He's professional and personable.  I had estimated six hours to do the work I needed; he did it in four; especially remarkable I felt, since he had earlier told me that he charges $42.50/hour for work of this nature.  Everything he did was done to my complete satisfaction.  He has been back once, and will return once more to completely finish the dry wall work on my ceiling.  I am now considering several larger jobs, including the laying of wood tiles in my foyer and ceramic tiles in my hallway.  His painters will repaint the foyer prior to the flooring being replaced.  He is researching doors that might be appropriate to separate a now open room from my hallway.  We have discussed an addition to the house in order to enlarge two upstairs bathrooms.  I am not at all hesitant to engage him for any of these tasks.'

Had termites in an outside wall.  Tierce Construction was company used by the pest control company.  They removed the outside and interior wall and replaced all of the damaged wood and insulation.  Stained the new wall to match the existing color on the remaining walls.  Replaced brick at base of wall.  Very professional, took maybe a week to complete.

They had to completely replace the drywall and the outer wall. It didn?t take them too long to fix it. They did a very nice job. They were very clean and knew what they were doing. The quality of their work was excellent. The work was covered under the termite bond. I was very pleased with their work.
