REHM ANIMAL CLINIC

My grandmother was concerned about her rescue porch kitty so she took her to Rehm (Hillcrest) as it was the nearest vet open on a Sunday. Before taking the cat in, my grandmother explained she was a widow on a fixed income and they assured her they would “take care of her”. The kitty was diagnosed with constipation and given an enema- they suspect she ate a mouse. They didn’t give my grandmother the opportunity to come get her that day, they kept the cat overnight without explaining the additional cost. Today she was hit with a $1000 bill... to treat constipation. Ridiculous. She wasn’t asked for authorization to proceed with treatment at that cost or given any updates on what it would all add up to either, and she was actually scolded by the girl up front for not having a carrier for her porch rescue cat. We will never be back there again, and we hope to prevent others from the same experience by sharing. If it’s a $1000 to give an enema to a cat that ate a mouse, I would hate to find out what they charge to treat truly sick animals. Terrible staff that takes advantage of the elderly! Avoid at all cost.

I was out of town when this took place, but they were very empathetic and very accommodating to my wife and daughter during this difficult time. We have been going to this same place for over 20 years.

My husband had a tried another place once, but came back here. He really likes them! They really love her too! You can see the genuine affection they have for our dog. She is very paranoid and routine.  She has no problem going there. My experience with them has been an A+.

I've taken my personal dogs, and foster dogs, to Rehm since I moved to Mobile over 4 years ago. They've been great vets to work with, and are one of the only Vet facilities in town that is open 24 hrs in case of emergency. They also have extended regular hours whcih is helpful for scheduling around work. They also have groomer on site and offer boarding services.
We lost a dog last year due to cancer, and Rehm was very helpful throughout the process. They diagnossed a pancreatic cancer as a likely culprit due to blood work and symptoms, and explained in detial all the options. They also helped to get me in touch with a veternary oncologist at Auburn, but due to likely side affects and my dogs age I opted not to do anything invasive and just try to keep her comfortable as long as possible. They were great in helping with her care over the last 6 months of my dog's life. We recently got a new pup and will be taking him to Rehm as well.

I was told my Dr. Rehm that he would need to remove the dog's eye. I took the dog for a second opinion because I truely did not have the funds for the surgery and another local vet told me to simply put saline in the dog's eye twice a day. It cleared up in no time!! WOW - that was so close to a dog getting his eyeball removed for NO REASON!!!
BEWARE!!!!! I will never do there again!

They offer superior service and they have a flexible appointment schedule. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Overall I would not take any animal to this clinic.  I can't say another vet could have saved Tipper, but I can say this Vet did not do all he could have and should have done.  Tipper was in the clinic over three hours and had only been partly shaved and he still had open wounds when died.
