We contacted Melanie because we were looking to purchase a home. We had found the home we wanted and basically needed someone to answer some questions and help us get in touch w/ the seller's agent. We met her at the house to view the home and asked questions about the age of the roof/AC/property lines. She said she could contact the sellers agent for that information but was more focused on if we had been preapproved for a mortgage (in fact she really didnt ask us any other questions about our home search other than if we had talked to a lender). We let her know we were working with a lender we found online. She advised us to work w/ someone local and emailed us a specific person to contact. I understand that she did not want to put in the effort to help us unless she knew she would get paid (so us getting the loan was important to her), but it came off as pushy and unprofessional. We didnt hear from her for a few days. When we did it was not w/ the answers to our questions about the condition of the home, it was links to homes that she was selling. A few days later we received more emails containing links to homes she was selling in various locations. Since we already knew we wanted the home we had viewed with her these seemed irrelevant and self-serving. Finally we found a new real estate agent and have been very happy. I will be posting a review of their services soon.
