Paul came to diagnose the problem and he charged a 60.00 cash only service fee. He told me that it was a valve that needed to be replaced and it would cost 160.00$ cash! I gave him the go ahead. He came back a couple of days later and replaced the part. It was not working after the part was replaced. He told me to run 3 gallons of water through to get the air out. I did everything he told me to do and it still does not work properly. He told me to let him know if it didn’t start working that he would give me a refund. I have texted him many times, and given him many opportunities to return the money. He still hasn’t returned the money. Very disappointed! I would not recommend his services.

Paul quickly identified the issue and was well equipped to rectify it.

LG Washing machine gave out. Called several big brand repair centers and received 3 ridiculous estimates for service call and  repair. We were just going to replace the washing machine. At the last miniute called paul at discount repair. He came out, called and ordered the part and in 5 days had this upright washing machine up and running. I was going to trash this machine and buy a new one. Paul is a very honest hard working individual. He does ask to be paid in cash and I  understand as it keeps his costs and my costs lower. will always use for our appliance repair needs.

,Cleaned my dishwasher (which did not need cleaning which I specifically stated) and told him it would not start and was something electronic.
He took all details of dishwasher, model, etc. and told me he would check for parts
I called him over and over since he never called back. When I reached him he stated that the part was no longer available. This was hard to believe since my dishwasher was fairly newly purchased.
I checked online, found the part, ordered the part and got installation guides online. When I received the part a friend and I installed the part and it is working perfectly.
I could make a fortune charging and quot;service feesand quot; then telling people and quot;the part is no longer availableand quot; but would not do this because it is dishonest.

We have used Paul in the past. Super professional , great response, and the best prices in Mobile. Had the dryer up and running in an hour and total cost only a few dollars more than competitors that charge 70.00. just to show up. Will use for all appliance repair in the future.

Paul arrived on time and looked at the ice maker and determined the unit needed to be replaced. He went to a local parts provider and procured the part, returning not long after to replace the part. He also replaced the solenoid valve on the unit, something I usually test with a multimeter before I replace.

The price seemed high to me but honestly I think most contractor's prices are high so I am not the best judge of price. I get my ice makers off Amazon for no more than $50 and the valves are around $20-40. Both for around $100 is not completely out of line. As is the case with most modern appliances, repairs are usually a high percentage of the original price of the unit. In this case, the repair was 20% of the original cost of the appliance. Makes a good argument for extended warranties.

After replacing the unit, Paul informed me that he only accepted cash, something I did not see on the website here on Angie's List. This is why I could not use him in the future. I use checks for recording and reporting purposes.

My dryer started beeping one night and the lights were blinking. I had to unplug it to get it to stop. I found Paul on Angie's List the next day. He came right over to diagnose the problem -- the board had gone out. He ordered the part and came back the next day as promised and fixed the problem. He was very punctual and polite. He even swept out from under my dryer for me when he pulled it out from the wall. I have recommended him to family and friends already for when they ever need a service man.

She completed everything in a very timely manner and repaired other items at minimal cost.

Got off work about 6pm and noticed the refrigerator was not cooling and the freezer was no longer making ice. I called 5 different companies before i reached paul at discount appliance and repair. I explained what was going on and was waiting for him to tell me how many days it would be before he could get to me. To my suprise he said i will head your way in about 10 miniutes. He found a faulty fan and control board and even though he did not have the replacement parts on the truck, he picked them up and installed them at a great price the following morning. Also fixed my seal and ice dispenser. fridge working like new. Very professional, priced right , followed up and kept me informed. Saved me from buying a new fridge.
