Since 1973 we have been providing all types of roofing services such as installing metal, shingle and built-up roofs on existing residences or new homes. We provide free estimates. Every job is supervised from start to finish by the owner of the business, a second generation roofing contractor. We can handle any problems under roof from rotten decking or rotten rafter replacement, fascia boards, re-flash chimney or wall flashing all with expert carpentry.

Initially we thought everything went great and I wrote a favorable review. However a few months after he was finished, our first problem materialized. Suddenly a strong mold smell started to emit from one of our bathrooms connected to a bedroom. It turned out to be from a leak between the roof and the wall. Mr Lett did come out when called to re-mediate the problem but refused to take any responsibility. He claimed the problem was from missing flashings and a stucco issue. His explanation was strange. We paid you close to $40,000 to give us a water tight roof. Why didn't you inform us of the missing flashing and give us an opportunity to bring in our stucco guy? He never answered that question. Another $1500 later we have personally fixed the leak. Second problem appeared: a water stain on the ceiling of my formal living room. Once again Mr. Lett did come out to our house in a timely manner and inspected the attic space above the ceiling. He came down with pictures and said everything was fine. My husband insisted on a water test. One of his workers ran water with a hose around the vents in that area and water came pouring in to the attic. Mr Lett did take responsibility at that time and sent workers to reseal the vent. I had to twist his arm to reseal all the vents as he did not think it was necessary.( It proved to be necessary and we ended up having to re-mediate his work with another roofer) He agreed to pay to repaint the ceiling but now refuses to answer our emails or send payment to repaint the ceiling. I caution other customers to be very careful with this roofing company as we have not had a good experience and are out a considerable amount of money having to re-mediate his work.

SO PLEASED with Damon Lett Roofing. Mr. Lett stays on the job site supervising his crew through all phases of the work. He and his crew completed the job in one day and left the property free of nails and cleaner than when they arrived. Since they lost daylight as the job was finishing up, Mr. Lett returned the next morning to inspect the job in the daylight. I highly recommend this company.

He was to begin with the windows the week of February 15th, he actually began Tuesday February 23rd by replacing the windows. He stated he would be back the following week to begin on the siding. After 5 follow up calls later I have not heard from him nor has he competed the job. It's now March 20th and I'm left starting the process all over again since he has not returned my calls or made an attempt to compete the job. The windows he replace were not satisfactory as gapping holes were left exposing the drywall from the interior walls. If my son had not sealed the gaps with a foam sealer the two storms that rolled in afterwards would have ruined the drywall surface on the inside. I did call trying to get him to secure the windows but never did hear from him.

"After windows were installed properly, homeowner was told it would be approximately 2 weeks before I could get back to replace the siding on her home. The cost of the window job was $4800 and she paid me $3600, leaving a remainder owed to me of $1200. I got tied up on a larger job and when the homeowner called I told her it was going to be a bit longer before I could get back to replace her siding. She became inpatient and told me she was going to keep the $1200 and get someone else to do the job."

Mr. Lett was very easy to work with and a complete professional. His crew arrived on time every morning and worked until after dark every day. They cleaned up at the end of every day. We have a very large roof,over 8000 square feet. Although he anticipated the job taking at least 10 days, they finished a couple days early. The roof looks beautiful. Mr. Lett was on the job site several hours every day, always at the beginning and end of the day. We were kept in the loop at all times. I was so confident with the quality of his work and his roofers, I didn't feel I had to be home all day watching. We have had two heavy rainfalls and everything is good. Highly recommend Damon Lett Roofing.

Contact was prompt and Damon Lett and his son, Taylor, arrived on time to do the work. They acted and were dressed professionally. I already knew that I had two spots in the same area that were leaking in my garage, which is why I bought the package deal. I mentioned the leaks when I scheduled the service. My only complaint would be that I believed those would be considered as "minor roof repairs" that were listed as being included as part of the $99 package. Instead, I was charged an extra $100 to have those repairs done. I was told that they were small "quarter sized" holes, which I would think was considered a minor repair. Perhaps "minor repairs" should be clarified in the description, because it leaves the door open to be charged additional fees.
I'm trusting that the other items listed in the $99 package deal were completed, like "caulking exposed nail heads on flashing, resealing around any unsealed pipe collars," etc. I wasn't provided with any photos of other areas in need of repair, so that's good. Nothing was checked on the interior of my home, but I'm fairly certain that I have no other leaks.
I see Mr. Lett's response; however, I printed out the terms of the $99 package deal and it definitely included "minor roof repairs." I agreed to pay the additional $100 because I had to have the leaks repaired. I didn't feel that I had much choice, other than to hire a different roofer and I'd already paid $99. "The $99 deal only included sealing around four vents/protruding nails, visually inspecting roof, and provide pictures if major damage is observed - and no major damage was observed. Four vents were sealed and the two holes were noted and told to the homeowner who agreed to pay the additional $100 to repair them since they were not part of the special. Thank you very much for allowing us to service your home."

The final bill came in higher than the estimate because of unexpected rot, but somehow they tied into a rotten piece of wood that is obviously visible from outside the house. They've assured me a few times that they are going to come correct this, but it has been over a month and they haven't done so.
They also dripped tar on the siding and didn't clean it, and they left some of the waste from the repair in my yard.

"There is no way to estimate for the rotten wood that you may find when tearing off a roof. The flat roof was in bad shape and had been leaking for a long time. The charge for extra rotten wood is based on how much you find . The homeowner agreed to replace it at the price quoted. The small piece of wood that the homeowner is talking about was on the fascia and not part of the flat area and very small and easy to overlook. Once notified by the homeowner, I got back as soon as possible but it was a very small piece and had nothing to do with the flat roof. When we replaced it we even painted with primer so it wouldn't be exposed to the elements."

dMr. Lett impressed us with his professionalism and obvious knowledge of roofing issues in the coastal area. His was not the lowest estimate, but we chose him because we felt confident that he would do his best job for us. The work was done quickly with a minimum of disruption to us. He was also very accommodating regarding payment. We had a very positive experience.

My insurance company gave me a notice of cancellation. One of the items was some minor tip curling on the shingles. Damon came out and inspected the roof. As I suspected there was no major issues that needed to be addressed. Damon agreed to write up a memo to describe the condition of the roof. All of this and they came out the day after I called. They will get my business in the future.

It went very well. Mr. Lett responded quickly with a price quote and when I gave him the contrace he had his team in and out in 2 days. It looks great. He was very patient when I asked questions and I enjoyed working with him.

They were terrific. They did a great clean up job afterwards. It was all really great. They accidentally broke a glass on the electric meter when a tool feel and they replaced that. They gave the estimate and it came out at that amount. It was done quickly.

Damon Lett Roofing was wonderful. His workload was backed-up and he put a temporary tarp on my roof. He gave me a time frame, 4 weeks before he could get to the job. The clean-up was great and showed up when he said he would. I called another person in Angie's List and it took over a week to get a call back from him after I left 2 messages. He was prompt and did a good job. I was happy with the numbers he gave.

I wasn't happy with Damon Lett Roofing. He did a few repairs which are since leaking again. He told me that he was going to submit an estimate to replace the roof and I never got that estimate. Sending the estimate would have been nice, but he never did, so I didn't bother with him. Also, the repair that he made, I don't know what he did but that one place that he repaired has leaked again. I wouldn't use him again, or recommend him.

"The homeowner was informed that the roof was in terrible condition and the leaks would not be stopped due to nails backing up all over the entire roof. I attempted to seal off several areas where I found problems but the roof was too far gone. The homeowner did not want to re-roof the residence at the time. I informed them that I could not stop the leaks without re-roofing."

I left a message and Mr. Lett promptly returned my call. He showed up on time for our appointment to get an estimate and provided me a written quote via e-mail the next day. His crews showed up on time and did quality work in a professional manner. They did a good job cleaning up after they finished and the new roof looks great. I would definitely use Mr. Lett again and would recommend him to others.

After his crew was available to climb up on the roof, I received a fair estimate and the work was completed on the same day. He and his crew arrived at the set time on the first day. They worked efficiently removing the old roof, replacing some deteriorated wood, and started on the metal roofing. They did a thorough cleanup prior to leaving for the day. The next morning they continued the installation of the metal roof and completed it in the late afternoon. They did an excellent job of cleaning up the debris. Mr. Lett was on hand at various times throughout the days, supervising and conferring with his crew, as well as touching base with us.

Damon Lett Roofing was recommended to me by a friend. They gave me a free written estimate and did an excellent job. Mr. Lett, the owner, came out and measure the roof and gave me the estimate. When they came to do the roof, Mr. Lett was there almost the entire time to supervise. The crew cleaned-up very well after completing the work. I was extremely satisfied and even used him to do my vinyl siding - which was also done perfectly. I would recommend Damon Lett Roofing to all of my friends, neighbors and relatives.
