CHUCK DIXON HOME IMPROVEMENTS

This was one of the worst experiences we've ever had! It took him 3 weeks to start the project - he dropped off some of the materials for the fireplace remodel and some workers showed up the next day. They were not provided with the materials needed to complete the job so this part of the project from start to finish took over 6 weeks to complete. In the meantime, the hardwood floors and accompanying pieces (t-moldings, stair nose pieces, etc.) and the doors were not ordered until 2 months after we had signed the contract!!! A crew of 7 showed up to lay the flooring and half of them had to leave because the stair nose pieces that were made of the exotic hardwood we chose had not been ordered because "he wanted to find another wood that he could stain to match" - and somehow couldn't find the pieces in the two weeks it took for the planks to come in - not to mention that he didn't consult with us on whether we WANTED a cheaper substitute! The workers that he brought in to do the work were overall competent and ready to get the job done. Unfortunately, he never managed to have all the materials available for the workers to actually complete the job. Even though we were very specific about what we wanted and we knew it was expensive, he wanted to use cheaper material without consulting with us, and he didn't seem to think it was an issue. He underestimated the amount of material we needed and we had to order more, which took time. The timeframe for completing the project was four months. He had guys come in and tear out floors and walls and then leave our house like this for weeks on end. One of the things I really wanted was to have outlets placed in the floor in the living room on each end of our sofa. The wall where the electrical cords were was torn out and available for an electrician to come in and run at anytime for two weeks. He knew when the crew was coming to lay the hardwood floors and yet he didn't manage to get an electrician to come out and we didn't feel it was fair to have the workers have to come back and finish laying the flooring in the living room, so we didn't get the outlets. This is absolutely unacceptable. The outside of the sliding doors was left unfinished. He had trim put around the top and side of the doors but there is a 4-inch space under the door that they left unfinished. We are so sick of dealing with him that we will have someone else complete it.

Room built and every time it rains hard we have to pump water out from inside, after 2 years joint seams in ceiling have to be redone, asked for 10 foot ceiling got 12 foot ceiling because contractor could figure it out, requested bookcases built in got junk after a few years is falling apart, concrete was shorted 3 inches from what contract stated...steps were not even provided and it is 3 feet from ground, was I supposed to use a ladder
