Excellent! We LOVE Dr. Symes! He spent so much time with us. He is a wonderful vet that truly cares about your pet. We had a bad experience at another local vet (Old Shell Road) before finding Beltline Animal Clinic. So we are so thankful for this vet and his practice. Everyone was so nice. Love them all!

It went very well.  He was so gentle with our dog and talked to her and told her what he was going to do.  It calmed her down and the blood draw went very smoothly.  He gave us good information about the thyroid and about possible treatments if her thyroid was not working properly.  We left the animal hospital and Dr. Semmes and his staff knowing that our dog is in good and caring hands when there.

My dog loves going to the vet's office! Everyone there loves the animals. They are attentive and helpful - as I had a sprained wrist, they assisted with my dog while I was checking out and led her to the car for me. Dr. Symes takes plenty of time with the animals, is very informative, and is very approachable with questions. He even trimmed my dog's nails. He's very knowledgeable and specializes in dietary issues that affect both animals and humans.

Our veterinarian, John Symes from Beltline Animal Hospital is excellent. I think he is very good with the animals. They like him. I've never had one that's afraid to go to him. He's smart and he's personable. He takes his time, gives you as much time as you need. He's so knowledgeable about a lot of different medical areas.

Dr. Symes takes time to talk with you and explain everything about what he does. He spends time with the animals, letting them get comfortable before examining them. I have used him for many years for three dogs and many cats and have never had a problem with him. He is good not only at routine procedures, but in unusual situations. He saved the life of one of my dogs who was near death from an infection of the bile duct and was very sympathetic and professional throughout. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Symes is one of those vets who genuinely loves his work. When we arrive for a visit, he drops down on the floor and visits with our dog before moving on to anything else. He is continually researching his field, as well as contributing to it. Dr. Symes will be the first to tell you that he talks a lot! But I add that everything he has to say is worth hearing! He is a great listener as well, truly paying attention to your questions and concerns. If a rating of A++ was possible, I'd give him that!

Dr. Syms is by far the best veterinarian I have ever used. From the mid-1990s until last February (when I moved to Houston), he took care of my cats. He and his staff are both professional and fun to work with. Most importantly, Dr. Syms is excellent at diagnosing issues by doing thorough examinations and asking questions about symptoms and the cat's overall behavior. Case in point: I adopted a male cat that had been abandoned, who developed severe urinary tract issues. When medication didn't solve the problem within a few days, Dr. Syms suggested I change to a different brand of cat food (one he didn't even sell). Within 5 days, "Fang" was better and has not had any more problems.
