This is a follow up to previous review because we have just completed all the repairs to the work Tommy and his crew did to our home. We have paid $2800 to repair the floors and the rotten wood he installed the new doors over. The hardware had to be reinstalled because the doors wood not stay closed with the way he installed them. He put the rugs and pads down before the polyurethane completely dried. They had to be scraped, sanded and totally refinished. The rug pads had completely stuck to the floor leaving a total mess. He was in a hurry to get paid and knew I would not discover the rugs were stuck to the floor until I moved them which wasn't likely since he put all the furniture back over them.

We have several projects left in our home and I refuse to allow this company back. Save yourself the headache. On a good note, I had to leave them in my home, yes, I had to work and the were very professional.

 First they did not match the paint color on the French doors to the rest of the trim and splattered white pain all over the newly refinished floors.  They came back and corrected the color on the doors and attempted to clean up the pain splatter but this resulted in removing the new finish on the floor.  Since furnishing were put back before they left and paid I did not realize they had put down the rugs on the floor before it was completely dry.  When I attempted the move the rugs a few weeks later I discovered the rugs were completely stuck to the floors and the backing on the rug pad separates when I try to lift it. It is a mess.  This is in 2 very large rooms with rugs that are 9x12.  So I am going to have to have someone come to get them up and then redo the floors.  I tried to call them several times but got no response.  I am so surprised because they have done extensive work for us me past and were professional.  I was not a member of Angie's list at the time this contractor worked for us.  

It went pretty well. It started out we were going to use affordable for the whole job but his cabinet man was busy so we found one on our own. We also got our own granite guy because his was too high. Affordables work was good but they did not pay enough attention to detail.

Initial meetings and proposal went really well.  Affordable construction provided some really good recommendations for the kitchen remodeling and provided an estimate that was competetive with the other proposals received.  The project was shceduled to last 10 days.  We refused the original kitchen cabinets that were installed for poor craftsmanship, and this led to significant delays and cost increases as we then contracted with another vendor for cabinet construction & installation. The kitchen and adjoining areas was unservicable for over 3 months.  While the end product turned out satisfactory, the delays and cost increases, coupled with a general inattention to detail, would unfortunately prevent me from again using or recommending this contractor.

I was very impressed at how efficiently they worked and how effectively they solved problems as they emerged. They met a very agressive time schedule. They kept disruption of the household to a minimum. They always answered phone calls immediately. Our neighbors and friends were impressed with the work quality.
I recommend them very highly.

Affordable Construction's price was fair. I have had no complaints with them and if I had an issue with something they came right back out and fixed it. They finished in a timely manner, I think they are hard workers, are nice, and didn't cause any issues. If I needed something else done I would definitely call them. I had no issues at all. They were polite and mannerly. They weren't the most expensive or the cheapest estimate that I got out. I might not even get other estimates, but would just call them, because I have been satisfied.

Thomas Reed (the owner) is an extremely hard worker, and his prices are reasonable.  There was a small break down in communication so he had to redo some of his work.  He needs to communicate with is clients better and pay closer attention to detail but overall he did a good job. 

the job started on the day they schedule it and they worked in a manner so that we could continue to use the kitchen as the worked on it and remodeled on bath at a time so we could still use one.they also completed the entire job in two weeks
