AAA LOCKSMITH SERVICE

Wanted to rationalize the plethora of exterior keys in our new house.  Reduced it to two (a single Schlage and Kwikset) to open any locks.  Larry has scaled back from when he had a store, and apparently doesn't even use an answering service so scheduling was a bit of a challenge as he answers his own phone, so if you call and he's available he'll come, but if not you'll likely have to try later.  (I first tried to schedule a week in advance which didn't work with his work flow).  But after exchanging a few calls, he showed up right when he said he would and did a bang-up job at what I thought was an unbeatable price.  He determined a couple of locks didn't need rekeying after he took them off and charged me nothing for the R&I, which I thought was more than fair.  Found him through Angie's list and wasn't disappointed.

Mr. Lee showed up a few hours after we called. I bought my own locks (on Doris' recommendation ) at Lowes.
He installed them and spent quite a bit of time making sure they were functioning correctly.
His price was reasonable and he got the job done.

They were on time, efficient and fairly priced.

I was pleased that he was on time, worked quickly and provided a solution that reduced the overall cost, in spite of my original request to "replace the lock."

I had five locks on my rental house rekeyed. I called the AAA office and two men arrived within an hour. I was told that I needed one doorknob replaced to have it keyed the same as the other four. I agreed to this as the cost was only $18.50. The men finished within 45 minutes. After they left, I opened a door and the new doorknob fell off. I called the office and the men returned within an hour. They tightened the doorknob and it now works just fine. I had my rental house rekeyed several times in the past and I am happiest with this company. I have paid $20 more with other companies for the same service and I think AAA worked more quickly and efficiently than others I have used. I would definitely use them again.

It was fine, but I was a little embarrassed at first thinking perhaps it was something I should have been able to do myself. But I would not have known how to properly disassemble and reassemble the lock. It certainly was a simple thing. Any locksmith could easily have done it. I don't know if the $50 charge for the service call is normal. It seemed high.
