It seemed to go okay at first regarding the installation. They did have to reschedule a few times, but the job seemed good - until 1 year later when my fence literally started falling apart panel by panel. I have been trying since August 2012 to get him to come back and fix the mess. He keeps promising and promising to come out. It is now April 2013 and will need to get someone else out to fix my fence that has been tied with cord. He does not stand by his work at all and I would never recommend him - not even to an enemy. I too am calling the BBB to lodge a complaint.

Overall the experience was good. Had to reschedule a couple of times due to overlapping jobs being worked. That is to be expected. There was no time frame to get the fence up. Worked out good for me. Compared to a couple of others prices that I received, Madison Fence and Deck definitely had the best price.

Fencing Service
At the time all seemed to go well. Now three years later, the fence is unstable. I can grab the top of one of the post and move it, along with connected panels, back and forth a least a foot easily. Since the boards are nailed to my side on the property line, I am unable to see what has happened, but it feels as though the post is rotted away. I've contacted Mr. Cork three times asking him to come out and take a look at the problem. He promises to come, but never shows up. I've turned him in to the Better Business Bureau. They are unable to get a response from him either.

We called and left 2 messages to get estimates. Finally received a response from the owners sister telling us that he had just had back surgery and he would call us back. He did call back and set up an appointment to give us an estimate. He showed up and walked around and took measurements. He seemed like a very nice guy. Told us that he would go home and work up an estimate and call us back. All other companies have been able to give us an estimate on the spot. We did not receive a call back with an estimate. The next day we realized that the owner had left his bag next to our garage so we called to let him know and to see if he had an estimate for us. There was no answer, so we left a message. It has been 3 weeks and we have never received an estimate or gotten a return call about his bag.

They were a no-show for their first estimate. The owner called, apologized and explained that he couldn't come because of a recent back surgery and that the employee he had asked to take care of it did not and also did not take care of many things he had asked him to do. He sounded sincere and like he really wanted my business and asked to reschedule the estimate. He said that he would come out 'ready to work' and would beat my other contractors' prices. I asked him if he was even up for it due to his surgery. He told me he would be able to supervise with no problem. None of those things happened. He sent the same employee he blamed for the no- show to take measurements and he arrived three hours late. That employee did not call back until over 24 hrs later with the estimate (the other contractors were able to give me estimates on the spot). He did not have all the answers to the questions I had asked him and promised to call his boss and call me right back. I never heard from them again. I ended up going with a contractor who gave me a lower estimate and always showed up on time.

Fencing Service
As we waited on Saturday June 9, 2007, for the Madison Fence and Deck rep to arrive and provide an estimate, we rearranged our personal schedule to accommodate the estimate. However, not only did they not show up at the time and date they stated, they never called or contacted us to inform us they were not going to show or to reschedule the appointment. We will never call Madison Fence and Deck again for any potential work!!
