Description of Work: Company is no longer in business. The owner was Kim Hammond. I heard she was opening another flooring business somewhere. Stay clear. She took almost $12,000 of our money. We contracted to do our mater bath and wood floors throughout our house. Her crew started on the bathroom but the work was so poor she had to send in another crew and they barely got started when she closed her doors and was no where to be found. She had half the money for our bathroom and half for wood floors for which we never saw. We did file a police report because this is a crime in Alabama (to contract and take money for work that is not completed). There is a warrant out for her arrest.

The wood floor started creaking and it just got worse and worse. In 2011, my husband contacted Ms. Kim Hammond, owner, to discuss the problem. All he got were promises that someone would come out and look at the floor and then excuses why it wasn't happening. Finally, Ms. Kim Hammond, owner, and a representative of the flooring manufacturer came to our home. Ms. Hammonds said she felt she was responsible since they sold and installed the flooring. After many attempts to schedule an appointment, one was finally made but no one ever showed. Later we found out the business had closed and the owner, Kim Hammond, had filed bankruptcy. The BBB of AL has the following alert on their website: On July 13, 2012, the company filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 7 of the federal Bankruptcy Act, case number 12-82238.Those with monetary claims against the company are advised to obtain a Proof of Claim form by writing to Alabama Northern Bankruptcy Court CM/ECF, , Decatur, AL, 35601 for resubmission to that court. The case number should be entered on the form. Claims must be submitted by 2012-07-27.
