Brock's Jewelers appraisal was free. The staff was very friendly and very helpful.

I was very aggravated and unimpressed. They said they couldn?t do that. They did not give me options. They said if they heated the crystals they would crack. They did not give me alternatives. When I went in there were about 4 employees they were talking and they wouldn?t acknowledge me. They did not say I will help you or I will be there in a moment or anything at all until I practically went in front of them. The jeweler looked at it and said in 2 or 3 sentences that he couldn?t do it. That was it. I walked out of there. My bother-in-law who is a jeweler said they could have glued it or done a hole in it and glued it in. It wasn?t an expensive activity so they didn?t bother. I also asked them to appraise my mother?s other ring. They said it would cost $50 which I felt was a little high. They didn?t exhibit a very professional manner.

"If we do not feel like a repair job, that we charge for, will not hold up and be of the up most quality we advise against doing it. No one wants a repair job or custom job that will not hold up. As far as $50 for an appraisal, any appraisal from a professional jewelry appraiser will run $50 to $150 depending on the item being appraised."
