Within two weeks the gyp boards were coming apart and were yellowed due to water stains---he most likely used gyp boards because they're cheap. When we FINALLY got him to come back to fix the problem, we had to provide more materials (plywood this time) because he only had $8 in the bank, and after he pulled the first one down, he proceeded to say that the problem was "old" water damage and that other areas were rotten.
My husband stated that a few weeks ago the same area had water damage and was rotten, and asked why did he not find (and take care of) this problem initially. After an intense discussion, Mr. Hart left and we contacted a roofing company that sent out a team the next day. For $100 less, they replaced additional boards, added some flashing, and replaced the under eaves with plywood. We're now good as new, thanks to Sears Connection.
