The overall job went on pretty good. The only thing was that they left something out after they finished the work. The owner called me and apologized and I didn’t even realize that they didn’t put something inside. My husband was the one who saw that. They came out and did that after I called them. They called back quickly after I had called them.

I have two Goodman AC units, one for upstairs, one for down.  My downstairs unit stopped performing, I assessed it as best I could, thought it may have a leak.  Air pressure was low, but it was still cool.  I called, they came out within two hours, but I didn't ask exactly how much they would charge for the visit.  I  knew they would have a service call charge ($75), but I didn't know they would charge another $75 to determine the problem.  $150 gone just for the service call.

Problem:  Needed to replace the less than two year old copper coil that leaks.  Service man said this Goodman part needs to be replaced often, so often that Goodman (I will be reporting on Goodman as well) is now offering a costly extended warrenty on labor and parts.  The leak caused it to lose freon.

Total time on the job = 4 hrs  (should've taken 1.5 hours except the new replacement part was BAD!  I guess I could consider myself lucky he didn't charge me for extra labor time, even though I was already ripped off)

Let me remind you my part was free.  Basically, the above estimate was a  Labor charge!

I talked to Robert Akins (name of owner) on the phone after the services were complete.  I expressed my concern about the second new part eventually leaking.  He assured me that I would be charged again if the part was bad.  Granted, it's not his fault if the part is bad, but I simply couldn't imagine paying him $300/hr for labor again!

I trusted I wouldn't get ripped off because a friend recommended them.  I was too desperate not to look more into this business.  Now, very dissatisfied with cost to fix, I want to share so that you may be aware.

The response time was great. It was during a heat wave so I really appreciated them coming out.

My service contract was good for three years. The owner is very involved with the company. They did work for my mother over 20 years ago and they did work for me in my other house 18 years ago. The prices are good and the owner doesn?t take any guff from his workers; they either do it right or they go packing. You get a list of customers that have worked with him so you can contact them and ask how the work is. I am very pleased with ACS.

I think that A C S has done everything wonderfully. Everything has been running outstandingly since we had the units installed by them 10 years ago. We haven't had any emergency work done, so they are great about preventing any small service checks between the routine checks.
