I called late on Monday and they were able to come out miday Tuesday to take a look at the leaking water heater.  In a very detailed manner explained to me what the problem was and why it happend.  It turns out that that water pressure regulator went bad and was allowing in too much pressure into the water heater causing the T&P valve to leak water from time to time.  It only took them about an hour and a half to get it fixed.  Very pleased with their work.

We have used the company before in the past with great results.  We had a mainline plumbing emergency on a weekend, and ended up calling Roto-Rooter instead.  Bad idea.  Luckily, we were able to get the Master's Plumbing to come out after Roto-Rooter failed to fix the problem.  They were on time, beyond nice and helpful, and very professional.  The price is higher than what you will pay with larger companies, but they do a better job.

I use Trevor. He always comes on time. I have never had to wait a day when I have had water dripping out of my ceiling. The day after the big tornadoes last year I had water but I had no power and I came downstairs and there was water dripping out of my ceiling from a pipe. It had nothing to do with any storm stuff. He came out here and fixed it for me. He had to kind of go around in order to get it fixed. A pipe that fed the icemaker in my refrigerator upstairs, they had put a filter on it and had not installed it properly. He is very upfront with his pricing. I don’t remember how much it was to fix the pipe because I had a coupon. He gives me coupons. To completely rebuild the sink and for the faucet I think it was around $300 but I had a coupon, so that brought it down.

Toilet flush handle only moves a short way now, flushes toilet same as before. Outdoor spigot repair done on same day. After new spigot installed, opening the water faucet led to loud noises and vibration throughout house; this happened repeatedly but had never happened prior to repair. Plumber was called back to house based on "100% satisfaction guarantee" and inspected outdoor spigot, reporting that "line pressure may be too high" and we would need a new "pressure regulator" which would be installed in the crawl space under the house at an additional ~$350 charge. He said his gauge "reads too low" but would not check any other faucets for pressure. While the plumber advertises a satisfaction guarantee and he came out to the house the second time because we weren't satisfied the first time, he tried to charge a visit charge in addition to the new pressure regulator, because he said the noises were a "coincidence" and not the result of his repair. We declined the second repair, refused to pay the visit charge of $59. Trevor was rude and did not stand behind the satisfaction guarantee. We ended up having to ask Trevor to leave the premises. He left the door to the crawlspace open.

Response from

"(removed member name) (actually his wife or girl friend, I can't remember which) called us for a toilet repair and while we were there inquired about the outside hose faucet. Standard operating procedure for The Master's Plumbing Co. is to test house water pressure wherever we go. We do this because pressure problems are so common, are not easily diagnosed unless you know what you are looking for, and are responsible for so many other plumbing issues that good service practice demands we test the house water pressure, free of charge, wherever we go. We do not force anyone to have plumbing repairs done. We will advise you regarding what you need and what your options are but what a customer chooses to do is entirely up to them. So if we inform a home owner that their water pressure is too high and that they need a new pressure regulation valve and they tell us to just repair the toilet and replace the hose faucet, then that is what we do. If after we have explained everything, the purpose of the valve and the possible consequences of high water pressure, the home owner refuses to do what is necessary, there is not a lot we can do. The old hose faucet did not make any noise because it was actively leaking which reduced the system pressure to the point that it didn't squeal when opened. The running toilet also contributed to the reduction of system pressure. When new parts were installed into a system with high pressure, the leaks were stopped but the pressure climbed and produced symptoms of high pressure when they were operated. We do have a satisfaction guarantee but that guarantee is predicated upon the home owner listening to us when we explain to them what is happening in their plumbing systems and allow us to make the necessary repairs. If you have high water pressure and you instruct us to simply replace a fill valve in a toilet, rather than correct the source of the problem, you can hardly hold us responsible when another toilet begins to run, or your kitchen sink faucet begins to drip, or if your new hose faucet squeals when you open it. We strive for 100% satisfaction. We are certified plumbing and gas professionals. We wish this had turned out differently but (removed member name) is very mistaken if he thinks we will make additional plumbing repairs at no cost. When you buy a hamburger they don't "throw in" the sundae for free. We provide thousands of Birmingham Metro area homeowners with excellent service every year. We feed our children by our knowledge and our skill. We occasionally will "give away" service but (removed member name) did not come anywhere near meeting our criteria for doing so."

Noticed water standing under our 19-year-old water heater. Had used The Master's Plumbing with great results in the past, so called them for an estimate to replace. They were quick to respond, provided thorough explanation of options, and provided a detailed estimate. I authorized the work and they showed up right on time the next day, completing the work within the estimated timeframe. After installation, we thought there was a problem with carbon monoxide. It turned out to have NOTHING to do with the water heater installation, but the installer still came back (late on New Year's Eve) to double-check everything and make sure there were no problems. He even called the next day to make sure everything was still okay. We couldn't have been more pleased with their service!
