Keith Davis Heating and Air Conditioning Service

Keith was at my house on a Sunday night (7/23/17), and claimed my Freon was low so he added 3 lbs. He had come early in the Spring for an easy fix like a capacitor, and I recall him saying the Freon was low then, but he did not address that issue because my house was cooling just fine (I used this guy twice before for easy fixes, and he seemed competent). So after he added the Freon on Sunday night, I texted him to let him know the house was still not cooling (it would not get below 76°F). He claimed he came to my house the next day while I was at work, found a small leak in coil, and then soldered the leak. I got home from work on Monday evening and the house was 80°F because I left the unit off while at work. I was trying to see I it would cool down when Keith came by that evening to get more money (he charged $125 for adding 3 lbs of Freon, and another $50 for supposedly fixing a leak in the coil). He shot the air coming from the return with the laser thermometer and I saw it was reading around 55°F. He claimed it would take a while to cool down, so I paid him the additional $50, thinking he would certainly return if my unit continued not to cool—that was the last I saw of him. I called and text him Tuesday night to say it still was not cooling, he said he would be back Wednesday. I kept texting him on Wednesday, because I was planning on leaving work and going home to make sure it cools before he left again. After ignoring my phone calls and text messages all day, he sent me a text me at 6:00 pm to let me know he was busy and he was sorry, but he would bring me a refund since he checked the system and could not find anything wrong. I was upset he waited all day to let me know (that was one more day I was without a functional AC unit), but I was encouraged by the fact he was going to give me some money back so I could get someone else out to fix it. I went up in the attic that evening and found where the ventilation had come loose from the main unit, and it was blowing cold air into my attic. I fixed that part and regained much of the force I had been missing, why Keith could not find that easy fix I have no idea. It still will not cool below 73°F, and I must still find someone else to repair my AC unit. Keith blew me off three other days after that, claiming he would come by to bring my money but never showed. On one of my last text messages I sent him, I mentioned that I don’t care about the money if he could simply fix my unit. I have not heard a word from the guy. By the way, I never believed he fixed a leak, because I do not think the coil was leaking; my unit did not slowly stop working, it was abrupt (plus my power bill had been normal).
