While vinyl siding's lifespan of 20 to 40 years is impressive for the cost, other siding options can actually last much longer. Stucco siding can last 50 to 80 years when properly maintained and is only a bit more expensive than vinyl. The easiest way to remove stucco is to use a circular saw with a diamond blade to cut small squares out, pry them off, and then cut the metal lath behind it with tin snips. Plus, you’ll have a higher risk of damaging windows, hidden siding, and sheathing if you go the less precise route.
There are two ways to determine which renovation will add the most value to a house.
