Initially I was very pleased with Chris. The stair project went very well......design, execution and price were perfect The bathroom went well until the last day. Chris was not there and sent his father and helper to finish up. The flooring tiles were not laid properly and are now loose. Cleanup was shoddy. But the worst incident involved the bill, which Chris had already prepared. His father asked for additional money to be added to the total to pay his rent! He wanted two checks, one for him, and one for the helper. I stupidly did this but kept very careful records of what I consider illegal practice. I then began looking closely at all of my Lowe receipts. There were additional charges on every one for water, snacks, etc, things I shouldn't have had to pay for. I discussed the situation with Chris concerning overpayment, ie the extra money for his father. I have never had a reply or the money. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

As opposed to the estimate, it took months instead of days. Most of the time he wouldn't show up when he said he would, and if he did, would only work 1-2 hours per visit and then spent more time on his cell phone than working. Basically, all I got for the money was new cabinet doors (which I didn't ask for) and a really bad installation of "peel and stick" flooring. For example, he pieced together the tile around the refrigerator instead of pulling it out and placing the tiles, started to paint the ceiling and said it was too old (house built in 1976) and the plaster was coming off with the paint, so he didn't do that. Part of the deal was expanding the cabinets to the ceiling. I had to introduce him to MDF because he couldn't "figure out a way to do that". Once he did, the moulding he cut has not proper angles closing at the corners and he told me that I needed to install plinth blocks in the corners because he couldn't cut the 45 degree cuts (even though he had a table saw capable of doing this). The only thing I could recommend Chris for is drywall repair. He learned this from his father and is good at it. I cannot recommend Chris for any other kind of work, you will be disappointed. I learned that he has a tendancy to commit to work that he either has no experience or the time to do. Before the job was completed (by his standards), the kitchen remodel left me with a kitchen that was worse than what I had and must be completely redone. In addition, his estimate on cost ended up being much more and the labor costs were more than the materials! Be wary, even though he may try, don't expect a professional job. In addition, expect your calls and/or messages to be ignored as a routine way of his doing business. And believe it or not, he is (was, don't know) a friend.
