We strongly recommend NOT using TNB Construction and Concrete. We hired TNB Construction and Concrete to replace our driveway (approximately 40’X21’) plus a carport/driveway on one side of the house (approximately 270 sq ft) and build a retaining wall (approximately 50’) on the uphill side of the driveway. We live on the mountainside and our house is on the down-slope side of the street. The street in front of the house is also sloped. Work started in mid-November 2020 with a plan to finish in 4 days, but it extended to three and half weeks, which included correcting several gross mistakes. First, the retaining wall is not straight, it is kind of wavy, but we accepted that, did not complain about it. However, they made other mistakes we could not accept. After the first pour of concrete, the workers cut a crooked joint at the edge of the concrete to prepare for the second pour next day. When we questioned about it, we were told that they would fix it later. After they finished the whole driveway, the crooked joint was still there. We questioned again and were told it would be filled. It was when they came back to cut the control joints, they told us they could not fill the gap and there is nothing they could do about it. After we refused to accept that, the owner said they would cut out a section that contained the crooked joint and repave it. While they dug out the concrete in that section, mistakes after mistakes were made that damaged the edges of the adjacent slabs, they had to cut more again and again, and made that section wider and wider. In the middle of all this, there was also a more serious problem with flooding in the garage and standing water in front of the garage after a rain. They scraped and resurfaced twice in the area where the water pooled. After work finally finished, we reluctantly paid them with a promise from the owner that he would come back if we still have the water problem. It rained two days later, and there was water in the garage. When we informed the owner about the problem, he claimed that “it appeared to be the seal on the bottom of your garage door”. After we told him that we have never had this problem before, he then twice agreed to come to discuss the remedy of the problem, but never showed up. We sent a certified letter to inform him about other contractor’s assessment on the construction of the driveway, and asking for reimbursement to repave part of the driveway. We also texted him to his phone with the letter attached. He did not respond. We have worked with many builders and contractors before, and this is by far the worst we have encountered. They do not take pride in their work. They are incompetent and irresponsible. Strongly recommend not using TNB Construction and Concrete.
