Ordering and installation went great.

Exceeded our expectations and we are THRILLED with the results. Edwin and his team drove 3 hours and arrived on time at 8:30 in the morning. It was laborious work (especially on the roof on a hot summer day) but they were polite, cleaned up after themselves, and were very professional. Edwin answered all of my questions when I first made the inquiry and his estimate (given over the phone based on my description of the areas) and final price were exactly the same. He was great at communication in the week and day prior to the installation. It took me over 2 years of searching Alabama for an installer and we are so happy that we finally found Skylight Options. The only other installer I found wanted to charge me $3800 for the exact same price. Before and after pictures are posted and were taken exactly 24 hours apart to show the dramatic difference.

We recently closed on our new home in Baker's Farm. For years, we have had solatubes installed in darker areas of our homes and LOVE them. Solatubes make a huge difference in overall room lighting. Edwin was punctual, neat, and professional. He helped us determine the best placement in the kitchen. A+ work with no hard sell. We highly recommend Edwin's work.

Edwin arrived late because rain put him behind schedule. In preparing to install the skylight, he discovered not only a wasp nest in the attic, but rotted boards from my neighbor's gutter! He said improperly installed flashing was causing the water to go down the connecting wall (townhouses), causing mold and rotted boards. There was a gap in the board which the wasps used as an opening for coming and going. Thankfully, he had wasp spray in his truck and he was able to kill them!
I love my skylight and wish I had done this years ago! He did a good job and cleaned up after himself. Yes, I would recommend him.  I think I could have used a smaller skylight, but I'm not complaining. The difference is literally night and day.

Arrived promptly and was very quick and efficient in the installation of the skylight.  I would certainly use his services again and highly recommend him.

They were great. The response was speedy, they were friendly, and the price was nice. I haven't had any issues. He came out one day to measure it, then he ordered it, and came to replace it. He was timely both times.

We emailed Skylight Options on a Sunday and Mr. Dawson emailed us back right away saying he would be calling us the next day.  He called like he said he was and we set up an appointment for the same week.  He arrived at our home exactly when he said he was. 
We found Skylight Options to be very professional and knowledgeable. We are very happy with our two 14' tube skylights. We are now able to enjoy the natural light from the outside and we do not need to turn on the lights at all throughout the day.  Skylight Options suggestions on where to place the skylights were correct!
We highly recommend Skylight Options to anybody in need of skylights, quality work, and great prices.   Mr. Dawson does his job well and takes pride in his work.  It is so difficult to find all these qualities in one person but with Skylight Options you have them all.

Mr. Edwin epitomizes affability and professionalism, a rare combination.  I could not be more pleased!  He started by helping me to select the best product and next choosing the perfect placements for locating the skylights, arrived exactly as promised for install, segued into graciously interacting with a testy neighbor, and ended the longg day with a spotless clean-up.  Not surprisingly, I always felt like I was in the best hands.  Thank you!!

Went well. Only this is, it's a recent installation, and until we get the springtime daylight, we won't know the full effect.

Great! I had Edwin install Solar tubes in our house several years ago and thought I'd give him a call on installing the ceiling fans (with light kits) and have them vent to the outside (old ones vented to the attic).  He replaced the old fans with new ones that I purchased, he did the mechanical installation of the fans and exterior vents - one to the roof and one to the side of the house. I did the electrical since he admitted that wasn't his expertise. BTW - the 3 solar tubes he installed several years ago have never given us a problem. Edwin is very honest and trustworthy - if he had electrical and plumbing skills I would use him for everything around the house! His attention to detail and quality of workmanship is outstanding.

rThis review is way late but better late than never. We met Edwin Dawson at the Fall 2012 Huntsville Home Show . He came to our home and provided a quote. We accepted and the work was done promptly and professionally. During installation, Mr. Dawson determined it would be best if one of the tubes terminated on the roof in a location then occupied by "whirlybird" attic vent. With our permission, and at no additional charge, Mr. Dawson moved the attic vent at his expense so the skylight could be higher on the roof and therefore more effective.
I would recommend Skylight Options and would use them again. It was a pleasure to have Mr. Dawson in our home.

I was pleased with the work performed by Edwin at Skylight Options.  He was punctional, provided a written estimate and performed the work in a timely manner.  Edwin also showed a lot of pride with the finished product by showing me what he had installed and insuring that I understood the work he had performed.  The entire installation took about half a day.  He explained the process of installing the light into my vaulted ceiling (and that some extra tubing was required in order to place the skylight "hole" on the back of my house rather than in the front).  The 14" tubular skylight that I purchased was installed on the side ceiling wall of my den rather than in the center (due to a ceiling fan being there).  It does provide additional light into the room, although I believe that a centered skylight would diffuse light better into the entire room rather than a light that has been placed near a wall.  Also, sunny days obviously provide better lighting than cloudy days.  The price for the light, extra tubing, and installation ($850) was exactly as Edwin quoted.  I feel it was a little expensive but I was aware of the price going into the job.  For anyone thinking about these type skylights, I would suggest getting two lights in a large room versus the one.  Overall, I was pleased with this company.

They were installed in only 4 hours start to finish. The gentleman was polite and very nice. The cost was a lot less than I thought it would be, but the quality of service was top notch. They left my house just the way they found it, clean. If I need more skylights in the future, Skylight Options will be the company I call.

We met Mr. Dawson at the local remodeling show, discussed his product and installation process and made an appointment for potential installation.  Upon his arrival, we discussed desired locations for the tunnels, got the estimate and contracted for installation.  Mr. Dawson did a great job!  The installation went quickly and professionally.  We are very pleased with the results.

Mr. Edwin Dawson, owner of  Skylight Options, does excellent work! He demonstrated a high degree of professionalism, was very clean, meticulous and showed an obvious pride in his craftmanship.   He wen the extra mile by making available documentation to support tax credits and even recommended another firm to do work he didn't specialize in.  Highly recommended!

This contractor gave me an estimate to install 2 skylights of $3200. I felt the 40 hours to install each one was excessive but I accepted it and told him I would sign a contract if he would give me two references and show me a skylight that he had installed. It's been weeks now and he has never contacted me with respect to my requests.
