Ray responded to my call quickly. He arranged a time to come to the house to evaluate the work and pick up the furniture. He gave us an accurate estimate and described exactly what he was going to do. He promised to complete the job in a week and beat that goal. When he brought the sofa and recliner back to the house they were like new. Ray is an excellent professional who does the job correctly.

It went beautifully! I talked to Ray and told him what I wanted. I had my own fabric that matched my bedspread.
His workmanship was perfect in every way! We are so pleased with the results. I highly recommend Ray's Upholstery!

Mr. Walters designed and made 2 sets of rocking chair cushions - seat and back.  He designed the cushions so they would fit on the chair backs and seats.  The design worked well and the cushions fit nicely.  He situated ties on the cushions so they would fit securely to the chairs.  The cushions are comfortable to sit in.  The quality of the stitching and the symmetry/evenness of the stitching and design is what disappointed me.  The stitching was uneven in places and the fabric was puckered in areas.  Also, the design was lopsided in appearance - as if the underlying foam cushion was cut "free hand" without measuring for symmetry.  While Mr. Walters is a pleasant man who designed cushions that would fit well, the actual quality of the finished product was suboptimal.

It went very well.  He helped us pick out a good color to match the back of the chairs.  We looked a lot of samples and decided on 3 but he told us to take the sample book home and look at it in the light of our home and matching it up with our chairs because he said the color often looks different in the home and lighting.  So we did and decided on a totally different color because the 3 we all like in the shop looked not so good at home.  I am very, very pleased with the color match up, the quality of work, and the appearance of the chairs.  Super nice guy with a great sense of humor, very pleasant to work with.  The shop is a bit messy but he knows where everything is and everything was done to my liking.  I have already recommended him to a friend.

We gave them the fabric and they did the work.  They did an excellent job and a very quality job.  They were very punctual.

I didn't know where to go so I looked up upholsters in the yellow pages. I drove around one day and visited them all, although most were closed or out of business. I gave the few that were open a picture of the chair and asked them for an estimate on recovering the chair with the material I had already bought. Most were so high it would have been cheaper to buy a new chair. I finally came upon Ray's Upholstery. He was charming and really helpful and showed me a book of other items that he had recovered. He said he would charge $135 to cover the chair. The chair also squeaked when you sat in it (it was an old chair) so he said that when he took the chair apart, he would glue the joints so it didn't squeak. In two weeks it was done. When I went to pick up the chair it was beautifully done. It cost me $135 to cover it and $15 dollars to repair/glue the joints. Now it is a beautiful chair and, though it is an old chair, it doesn't squeak when you sit down.
